I vacuumed! Go Me! Also I have my biiiiiiiiiig 16 quart slow cooker simmerin’ away with beef-veggie soup. Between that and the chikin, carrots, and N.O.T. roastin’ away in the other slow cooker, da cave is smellin’ nummy. I just et me a ham ‘n cheese sammich but the smells are makin’ tummy think it’s still hongry. Some of the soup will get et this week and the rest will be put in containers and into da freezer. I considered whompin’ up a batch of chili for da freezer, but, well, one does not need to get carried away now does one.
That reminds me - when my daughter comes here in Nov, she’s requested beef stew. Gotta remember to buy some stew meat and make it up a couple of days before she gets here. Note to self…
Blurf for a moanday.
Working from home.
Spent too much time online looking for pieces for my Halloween costume.
Now finishing up lunch, then back to work.
Happy Day Off to the Canucks and Americans With The Day Off!
I have a container full of chunks of chicken for a future meal, as well as a pot with carcass remnants boiling away. Plus 2 poke chops marinating in teriyaki. So domestical of me!!
I should make sammiches for lunches for the rest of the week. In a bit…
Mrs. Plant (v.3.0) makes beef stew from a roast.
Cajun’s Wharf? We could have thrown rocks at each other to and from my work.
Neither were we. I hadn’t remembered a thunderstorm.
Yep, I was at the Cajun Wharf and had the Boston Casserole along with a drink called the Play-de-Doh, or something like that.
I meant it was stormy here in Washington; not Arkansas.
Forgot to mention that I need to go out and buy a new big barrel curling iron. Somehow, mine managed to get broken in half on my flights to Arkansas. The barrel was literally separated from the base. I was not a happy camper. Had to make due with the smaller iron. I almost didn’t take it, but was so glad I did.
Not a holiday for me or DH. Boo.
Sadly, our airport is well known for that.
Still alive. Blorf.
Taking 2 cats and one dog to the vet today. They are innocent of their fates at the moment. One is even purring in my lap.
Yep. Big day here.
Happy Thanksgiving to Emily and the rest of the Canadians among us!
sari, 2-3 miles a day? I drive further than that just to get on the freeway.
My desk is looking pretty good for a Monday. I might have it cleared by Wednesday.
Lawn is mowed and I even swept the piles of dead grass from the front and rear doors (the pile near the back door was due to either spontaneously combust or become the new dominate lifeform on the planet, so I either saved myself or humanity). Bath was then in order, followed by lunch at Jimmy John’s (#7 and chips with a large Coke) and two new slippers and five Polo shirts added to the wardrobe.
Could clean the bathroom or a couple of other chores, but not motivated to do them at the moment. Could be motivated to take a nap, however. We’ll see.
Stripped and remade the bed, started laundry, unloaded and loaded the dishwasher. Made burgers for lunch. That is all I have done today and all intend to do except cook some spaghetti for supper.
Got to get clothing rounded up and ready for irk.
Back from Knoebels and nursing my wounds. Will catch up later. Hugs to all who want them.
Whatjagonnabe?
Just spent 45 minutes arguing with my son about why he needs regular exercise. Truly, folks, autism is fun! Take the brainpower of an extremely smart 10 year old and the persistence of a. oh, 3 y.o. (why? why? why?). His psychiatrist will say you can’t out-argue someone with autism, and normally I don’t even try. But he’s starting to figure out my tactics, so it’s time to learn some new ones.
Oh, and I started a Pit thread. Holy Toledo. I knew people were a little, er, hot on the subject, which is why I did it, but I apparently poked the bear. It’s scary in there.
Swampy You’ll be glad to know that I have acquired a giganto pack of TP. We’re set for the zombies now. We can hole up for at least 6 months. Well, I gotta work on food next.
Time to start catching cats. yay.
We went out and voted in the advance poll. First time we didn’t wait for actual election day. Only one voting booth and a 20-minute wait. I guess that the good weather and holiday Monday encouraged more people to vote today. Next time we’ll just wait and vote on the day, as it always seems to move much faster. Our regular polling station is only a couple of blocks away, so an easy stroll to get to. It was fun to watch the little kids help Mummy and Daddy vote, though :).
Home from the oil change/tire rotation.
They couldn’t get the low tire light to go out but it went out on the way home.
People are rude. I was sitting in the waiting room, playing Words with Friends and half watching TV. Some couple come in and without a word the woman just picked up the remote and changed the channel. Then she played on her phone while the two of them chatted. I was only half watching but I think she could have said something first. Then for her to change the channel and not watch either? Rude I think.
I realized I hadn’t eaten yet today so I grabbed two burgers on the way home since we are pretty much out of food.
We have to leave around 4 to get the groceries.
Red back when I was delivering papers and pet sitting I would usually drive 150-200 miles a day. I so enjoy not having to drive like that anymore.
I’ll have to work out when we go to the college. He says he wants to shave first.
I have to go to a irk-related volunteer event in an hour. If I had known it was going to give me panic attacks I never would have signed up, but I’ve been on the verge of a minor freak-out all day. It’s at the vet quarters which is where Loser Ex was for a while before he skipped town. I know he’s not there anymore, but old demons die hard. I’d’ve called in to cancel my appearance but I couldn’t come up with a good excuse.
**FCD **is home and he doesn’t want supper, so that’s easy. The poke chops will marinate overnight.
I still need to make up a few lunches for both of us. Just don’t wanna…
