With the best technology in the world, could we somehow bring female infants to term without human wombs to grow them in? (presumably using frozen embryos that are currently banked). I suppose we could use female chimps as surrogate moms…

I believe the hypothetical has stipulated that there will be no more female humans, ever.
The reproductive problem is fierce, for sure, but at least IMO men are in a position to maintain an industrialised and technological society for a few decades while they make the effort. I’ve no idea what’s biologically feasible (ova grown in vats from donated ovaries, which might be possible to clone; synthetic uteri as in Brave New World, or something rigged up with pig’s uteri or humanzee host mothers) and I’d estimate our chances as somewhere between slim, none, and don’t be silly. We might be better advised to work on uploading our consciousness into computers. Or just say “Bugger it”, live the rest of our lives in what dignity we could manage, and turn the planet over to the rats and cockroaches.
