School I mean. Last two grades were finally posted this morning. I have officially completed my AS in Respiratory Care. Of course this doesn’t qualify me to do anything other than take the boards, which I can’t do for at least another 3 weeks. Then I have to get my license. THEN I can start looking for a job. In about 15 years or so, I might be experienced enough for an “Ask Me…” thread.
I will NOT be going to graduation. I did it once, never again. Graduation is a punishment for finishing a degree. I will go to the pinning ceremony because my program director hit me with a guilt trip.
I have not been a non-college student since August 2010. It feels strange. I keep saying I’ll go back and finish my BS but at this point there’s no chance in hell of getting me back into a classroom.
Congratulations on your achievement!
Congratulations! And I totally agree with you about graduations.
More congrats! Well done! Doing a little celebrating?
My idea of celebrating is doing as little as possible until Monday. I’m thoroughly enjoying myself. My eye hadn’t twitched In 2 days!
Congratulations!
I didn’t attend any of my graduations (3) after high school nor either of my wife’s (2) since we married. (Nor did she). However, I’m now a professor and I need to go to one almost every year – sigh.
But Congratulations and good choice on not attending.
You get your AS? You bet your bootie! Congrats.
I feel the same way i went to college for 6 years i cant se myself puting another 6 years.
Thanks everyone. The pinning ceremony was today and it was surprisingly short since they didn’t make all the less important people stick around for the nursing oath and whatever else they do with their lamps.
The dean of allied health talked about each program and actually mentioned that Respiratory does something besides giving neb treatments. Still, Respiratory ended up sounding like the red-headed step child of the allied health department, as it always does. It’s a good thing I don’t need the respect of others to be happy.
Congrats! Looking forwards to that “Ask Me” thread.
