It's driving me nuts... what's this song, and who's it by?

'Nuff said.

I even e-mailed the radio show host to find out… never heard back.

Please, someone tell me who’s responsible for this earworm…

I know it looks kind of sketch, but I didn’t know how else to upload a song…

seriously? that sounds like something done on a cheap keyboard, probably made for the show itself.

the sound is pretty bad though so maybe not.

I can’t tell you what song it is, but the beat puts me in mind of the music the Mexican Homies were playing in Napoleon Dynamite when they pulled up to pick him up for the prom. So maybe you’re making a connection?

yes, the sound is bad, because I used my handheld digital recorder.

I think it sounds like Beck…

Most likely rights-free production music. Radio stations don’t usually use identifiable songs for PSA, canned announcements, etc. They buy pre-packaged song CDs that they can play without additional licensing fees.

Call The Zone. They’ll probably know.

Okay. Consider this a Doper challenge… with all the music aficionados on this board, somebody should be able to ID that song.

RealityChuck, it definitely is a real song. I’ve heard it somewhere else before. All of their bumper music is real.

Won’t play for me. I tried with Winamp and WMP.

In my mind, this statement is always accompanied by a deep, growling “AARRRGGGH.”

and a mental image of a pirate with a ship’s helm attached to the front of his trousers.

Why? Why do you do this to me? I thought hippies were suppose to be kind, damn you.

Does the tune go:

Bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah baaah
Bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah baaah
Bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah baaah
Bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah
Bah bah bah bah bah
Bah bah bah baaah
Bah bah bah bah bah
Bah bah bah baaaah
Bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah baaah
Bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah baaah.

It’s “Don’t You Evah” by Spoon.

Good ears duality72. Now I’m just trying to figure where/when I’ve heard this song. The part from the radio bump sounds so familiar, but I don’t think I’ve ever heard the actual song before. Weird. Oh well, at least I won’t have to jam a pencil in my ear by the end of the day.

duality72 RULES!!!

:smack: And this is probably the one time I regret not having speakers hooked up to my work computer. I have a few Spoon albums on my iPod and would probably have figured that out. (Alternately, if I’d clicked on it this morning before I left for work…)
