Well, there is that advantage. I’m usually in and out pretty quickly, while she dawdles along.
Morning all. Swear I posted something last night but can’t find it now so will continue onward. Up about 7am and waiting for the empty-stomach medicine to settle before breaking fast. 29F heading to 46F so temperatures much like yesterday and no threat of rain. Nothing much on the agenda, so a quiet day is anticipated.
JtC, never heard of that rug-cleaning trick, hope the carpet dries out eventually…and you are really settling into that community, aren’t you?
Nellie, hope they find it’s not Arthur’s-Itis and if it is, they take good care of it. Stay dry. And hope Max’s person get their act together, both for you and him.
boo fae, sounds like you have your bases covered, but the student will find something to complain about, I bet.
FCM, Happy Anniversary! Enjoy dinner. And just how many gallons of Cetol are you using anyway?
red, may the day bring continued improvement.
{{flyboy}}, money issues are the one thing you don;t need now, hope life treats you right and a new job comes along soon.
Nut, enjoy the heat wave, guess the Gulf Stream is running a special heating time for you folks…
And this will get posted, so take care all and have a good 2sDay. Big Bowl O’Cereal is waiting for me…
woke up to temps in the teens. my new jacket is getting a workout. i may have to get the big coat out of storage.
went out to get the shuttle and the elevators are not working. oy! down 10 stories of stairs. nothing like cardio to start the morning. my neighbours got cardio and weightlifting as one carried the yearling and the other the pram. our tower had all the elevators out, other towers had at least one working elevator. uff da!
one neighbour was on her way to the gym. she decided to go back to her unit. the stairs were right there! she could have done the cardio. when i got to the lobby, my puppy neighbour was there. i got a bit of puppy time before getting on the shuttle.
in keeping with philly’s snow drought, we will warm up and just have rain for the next storm system. le sigh.
Good morning.
It’s 46°F and raining lightly. The rain is forecasted to end in about an hour, and then we’re supposed to receive a several-hour break before rain moves in again. Our expected high is 51°F.
The river down in the valley below me has reached flood stage, and so have several others. Minor flooding and even landslides have occurred. It was pretty windy last night, too, but we never lost power.
FCM, happy anniversary to you and your sweetie!
Nellie, I hope Max’s person can get her poop in a group. I also hope that you can find some relief for your pain.
Red, yay for Nelson visits and continued improvement.
BooFae, hopefully, the special student doesn’t even show up.
Thursday is gonna be a busy day for me. I have to drive down to Olympia in the morning to take my son to a dental appointment. They are sedating him, so I guess I need to drive. After his appointment, I’ll have to get him settled, and then drive back for an early afternoon hair appointment.
Johnny, you’ve had a lot on your mind, so it’s easy to make a mistake. Hopefully, all can be rectified. I used to make a spreadsheet with a checkbox function to tick off the completion of monthly payments.
The garbage and recycling were hauled down last night, and with the wind and all, hopefully there isn’t a bunch of trash strewn about the street.
Welp, that’s about it for now. Wishing you all a smooth and easy day. Take care of yourselves.
I ran out of check registers at the end of December 2023. I have a spreadsheet with:
| Number or code | Date | Transaction Description | Cleared | Payment, Fee, Withdrawal (-) | Deposit, Credit (+) | $ Balance |
|---|
I seldom write checks, but I do occasionally; like for Federal and California income taxes.
I don’t think we’ve even used a quart of the teak colored Cetol, and we’ve just started the second quart of the gloss, but we used these same cans of Cetol to do the transom a couple years back. A little goes a long way as long as you’re not messy.
Pics on FB of the work in progress. Not gonna bore anyone here any more till it’s all done.
rocky - at least it was down the stairs and not up!
Taking a break and about to get some lunch before heading back to the basement. The fan has helped minimize the fume effects. So I got that going for me. ![]()
It was a light wintery mix, the streets were wet, but clear, and no black ice.
12/09/2018:
I was loading Middle Blue on the 100, since loader called out. The one load had a 37 box bulk load, and 333 of them were 47lbs 16x16x48 boxes of towels. Which Dispatch transferred to the car next to it, so I had to move 400lbs of towels twice, along with 60% of the rest of the loads. That was tiring. But I’ve had my poke loin mcmuffin, so time to sink into the rest slab till hockey time.
Tell him it tastes like wood. ![]()
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY FARIYCHATS!!!
![]()
Thanks, all, for the anniversary wishes.
And here’s Otis in a rare moment of daytime chillage.
It didn’t last long - he’s pestering me again!
Reminds me of Kasya. She winds down briefly, then goes back into turbo.
We are quite literally on the dividing line between rain and snow for today. We live right next to the I-94 corridor, and the predicted weather is rain on one side and snow on the other. Worst scenario: rain, then a freeze.
Awaiting my Chex mix ingredients and my Amazon Dot delivery today. If they don’t get it here today, it could be awhile because of the weather mentioned above.
Sadie has taken to perching on the arm of my chair on a daily basis.
Sadie isn’t perched, she’s supervising.
She appears to be reading this thread, as well.
what a sweet boy!
i have found my new “need a laugh” clip. The Sketch Broke the Newsroom ![]()
talk about falling out of the chair laughing. even the chair fell over.
chefguy, she will be posting soon.
Is that real? I love that clip.
Happy Fairychatversary!
It doesn’t exactly feel like a heatwave… I have the fire lit.
I’m re-reading the Lord of the Rings again at the moment, and I’m at the bit where the gloom of Mordor is spreading over the land so there’s no dawn, just a grey twilight; that’s what the weather was today, but wetter.
I would much rather have cold, if anyone has any spare snow, send it over please!
The ratties are definitely less freaked out today than they were all weekend, but I still have no idea what caused it. I think I maybe heard an owl on Saturday night, but surely that wouldn’t freak them out for 3 whole days?? Or maybe it was all just a cunning act to get more treats?
Did the student show up Boofae? Where I am we don’t have to worry too much about undergrads, but we’ve had the odd one on placement where you wonder how they got through the doorway without screwing it up.
Finally received my Echo Dot. Works pretty well, but why do I need my phone to give it commands? It should be able to hear me, right? It also informed me that I can’t link to my Apple music library because my phone needs an upgrade to version 12 and is too old (much like me). So I guess I need a new phone.
We have 2 echo dots as does my daughter and they respond to us just fine. Maybe it got borked during setup? That’s weird.
I’m done, having put the second coat on the hatch and the name/port boards. The nav light boards will be done another day. I can’t recall if the clear Cetol has an odor or not - Guess I’ll find out.
For now, tho, it’s just chillage till we go out for our celebratory sushi.
I may have reached the upper limit of my ability to function in the electronic world. If I can’t figure it out, my wife’s niece will likely be able to on her next visit.
i don’t believe any self-respecting police department would circulate that “sketch”.
does make me laugh.
Looks like we’re (so far) on the snow side of the weather boundary. It’s coming down like it means to stick around awhile and cars are slowing way down. Westbound I-94 is at a crawl.
