Leaving O a Jet MMP

Obligatory Song

I’ll be in sunny(N.O.S. SoCal for a week, for the hockey Booster Club Convention. Obigatory dunken psots to follow.
Talk amongst yourselves.

First!

Have fun, Doggio - who’s going to send us the daily Gordie pic? You know we have to keep up to date with the constant struggle against the Mole People

I’ll be leaving on a jet plane next Friday, and to be honest it can’t come round soon enough!

Looking forward to much drunken posting

I’m having my roommate forward me pics. Wouldn’t want the Interweb to be deprived of Gordie.

The rain bypassed us overnight, but forecasters say we could get over 2" today. I made sure to leave my car windows closed, which means it won’t rain… :stuck_out_tongue:

**doggio **- where in SoCal?

Nothing exciting here - I’m awake and dressed and kinda sorta ready for work - our vacation starts in 73 days. Till then, just keep on keepin’ on…

Happy Moanday!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 75 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 89 and mostly N.O.S. with a possible stray tstorm which is typical for this time of year. Today I shall go visit uncle and catch up with some old friends for N.O.L. Sis has to irk today so I must needs entertain myself.

doggio have fun in SoCal!

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then I suppose I should purtify and go forward into the day.

Happy Moanday Y’all!

B.L.U.R.F. I’m awake, but that’s due only to caffeine and nerves. Just as I was about to go to bed last night, Irish Storyteller knocks on my door to tell me that our mutual friend the Computer Gnome is being an idiot. He’s currently going through a nasty divorce, he’s all alone in Pirateville trying to keep the house, and then last night his girlfriend broke up with him. So he decides this would be a good reason to end it all, tells IS this and hangs up the phone. I start calling CG’s phone (and calling and calling), IS gets on the phone with the Pirateville PD only to find out that CG has driven off somewhere. Then newly-ex girlfriend texts IS telling him “we just broke up and he could really use some company.”

Cue long, irritated text from IS. An hour later we finally hear back from ex that CG is at Walmart. IS calls the Pirateville deputy and tells him this and then I get a call from CG who is back home and drunk off his ass. I was as nice as I could be (I have negative tolerance for weepy drunks) while IS called the deputy again. Long story short (too late!) around 6:30 this morning we find out the deputies got to CG last night and took him to the hospital.

I’m glad he’s all right, but my punching fist and his head have an appointment to meet sometime in the near future.

On top of all this, my temp assignment ended early last week when it was supposed to end *this *week so I’m scrambling to find another assignment. Good news is I heard from two other temp agencies last week who got me into their systems. Plan for today: call them and see what they’ve got in the pipeline. Kitty needs some paying work.

Catamount, that is far too much excitement for a weekend! I’m glad your friend is ok, but good grief.

For me: blurf. Also, had bad date number five-thousand-something last week, so I’m feeling discouraged. And I’m working on the Project That Will Not Die.

And I’m coughing. Allergies, I think.

Blurf, generally.

Happy Moonday!

It’s cool and rainy here.

I slept most of yesterday and woke up early today.
I cleaned up the kitchen and logged into irk.
However, the sleepies are starting to creep up on me.

Lawn mowing was on the agenda for today but that is not going to happen now.

Have a fun and safe trip Doggio!

{{{BigKitty}}}

Morning All.

Busy this past weekend with soccer stuff. Looks like I’ll be busy all week with soccer stuff. In fact, August through Mid-November looks booked. Well, keeps me out of trouble…

Rain finally showed up last night, with more in the forecast through the week.

doggio, Have a good trip; I’ve done my flying for the year (HSV-ORD-EWR-ARN-CPH-ARN-MUN-ORD-CLT-HSV) so you can have all the fun of crying babies and cramped seats…

Big Kitty, don’t blame you for being upset, but don’t hit him; you could break a knuckle. Hit him with a waffle iron instead. <joke>

Blurf O Matic I am at irk. I hope my two new hires can start this week or no later than next week. The pesky background checks are the hold up. Of course, I would get new people just when it starts to slow down a tetch. We will be sort of slowish through Sept and the beginning of Oct. After that the hoards descend again.

So, I have decided to take a few days off this week since my teenager does not leave til next week. Mooommmmmm I have told staff to text me when Fed Ex box arrives. On my staycation I plan to clean house and purge stuff, clean my car, get my hairs cut and colored and even go to the beach one day. Plus lots of sleep and movie watching and internet reading.

Dang Big Kitty That is nerve wracking. Glad your friend is OK.

Doggiooo Have fun in So Cal. When I was there I enjoyed the change of scenery.

I was out of milk and half-and-half, so had this morning’s coffee with chocolate milk. It was not as good as it sounds. Stopped at Dunkin’ Dobuts (my niece said dobuts instead of donuts when she was little) for a regular coffee with 2 creams. Still not great. Maybe I don’t like coffee any longer, but what will I drink with my morning cig?

When it rains it pours. My clerk that I have had problems with has given notice which in the long run will be a good thing. We may have to shorten our hours of operation for a bit until new staff is up to snuff.

Will shortened hours mean you might get to have a life?

Lunch Break. Still no rain, but the radar shows it’s enroute.

First off: from last week

But maybe a Pope or two?

I do remember her! Sometimes its hard to remember that was years ago and not weeks ago ----- much fun with odd characters was had by all.

You know, you can put out fires with the proper use of explosives. With it being Plant and all ------------

<followed by>

Only if they find out. Or so I read once --------- in a newspaper. Yeah, that’s right ---- a newspaper.

Doggio have fun!

BigKitty glad everything turned out ok, but what a mess.

Still ingesting coffee and trying to face the day. Pepper can be very loud when she is playing. I need more coffee.

Here in CA we are experiencing… get ready for it… HUMIDITY!! The next person who says “feels like earthquake weather” is going to get a punch in the face.

Better song; much Holier and Plain. But then again, we are talking SoCal and not Indiana.

Went to Kennywood yesterday to ride in the trolley for the Fall Fantasy Parade; there could be YouTube out there but I didn’t look. The coaster club usually kicks off the “fall” season as the park winds down. That and Sharknado 5 which was a real let-down after 4 ---- so much so that I had to stay up until 2am watching 4 again. This one jumped the shark (sorry) so bad that to rescue the franchise instead of a back to the future I would make a Dallas out of 6 and start with Fin waking up to find a shark in his shower and everything back to where 4 ended.

There is one thing I hate more than anything else and that is cold calling people. Today I called not one but two temp agencies to see what they had coming up. One recruiter had nothing that wasn’t manufacturing, the other recruiter was in a meeting so I left her a message that I had called to check in. The third recruiter told me she prefers email, so that’s what she’ll get–later this week. I talked to her Thursday so I’m going to give her a chance to get me in the system.

Then I went for a walk because it was temporarily not raining and I still had a lot of nervous energy to burn off. I’m probably going to collapse later this afternoon when my body remembers it only got five hours of sleep last night.

I do have one more brief update: my husband got the city name wrong for the UK move. It is outside of Birmingham, not Bristol.

Doggio, is your title like the 25 letter Christmas alphabet? Noel?

How you doin’?

Rain was the [del]right[/del] wrong size & cadence to make it noisy hitting the gutter, which woke me up early.
