It's happening again: we have another feral kitten hanging around!

A few years ago we had a bunch of feral kittens show up on our porch and ended up taking in two of them (old thread here: Anyone have experience taking in feral cats?) and they’ve been great cats ever since.

There’s a new little orange kitten who showed up a couple of weeks ago, a male I believe. I’ve been working on making friends with him. When I first saw him his eyes were still a little bit blue so he is still quite young. Still has that squat little chubby kitten body. Very friendly, and still young enough he thinks everything is food so he’s a little bitey at the moment (well, more “nippy” than bitey, really), but he’ll grow out of that.

We’re getting our guest room ready to quarantine him for the next couple of weeks and he has an appointment at the vet on Monday afternoon for shots and a general checkup. He doesn’t come around every day so we’ll probably just grab him and bring him in whenever we see him tomorrow or Sunday.

My wife has been upset the sisters we took in 2.5 years ago bonded with me and not her, so cute as he is, I’m letting her feed him and take care of him. He will be “hers.”

I know you want pictures! Mostly what I have of him is video which I can’t really upload here, but these photos were taken a couple of days ago:

Pretty sure the tortoiseshell in the 1st photo is his mother. Got to get her fixed at some point. Think she might actually be a sister of the two we took in before, which would make this little guy their nephew.

Well shit, the most consistently difficult thing about feral kittens is getting the spicy ones to love humans. Congrats on your new kitty-to-be!

Lucky wife! I bet he’ll turn out to be a little angel.

He is a very cute little guy! Mazel tov!

I love orange kitties, they always turn into such smooshballs. Good on you for taking him in!

Little Orange Boys are the best!

That kitten looks just like my Atilla did. His mom was feral too, and Atilla was born in my back yard. At the end of April he will be fifteen, I can see him laying on the corner of my bed.

Kitty kitty kitty kitty kitten!

Ahem. I think I have nothing else useful to say on the subject; you seem to have it all down. (And, shortly, picked up and cuddled.)
