I don’t believe that for a minute. You knew exactly how contentious it would be.

I miss the Halloween forum.
Along these same lines, I no longer buy milk as all it does is go bad and stink up my fridge. No silly cartons of milk. They just become a nuisance.
Yeah, I like my Halloween jack-o-lantern, but by around February or so when its rotting carcass is causing mildewy pumpkin goo to slither all over my front porch, it’s time to shovel the whole mess off to the compost heap.

She’s the cute little dark haired girl Kevin Arnold likes in The Wonder Years.

I miss the Halloween forum.
I’d like to miss it, but it won’t leave.
Psst, it did. There’s no halloween forum anymore.

I assume you’re just being facetious, but I will note that I have done exactly that. I don’t drink milk. I used to eat cereal in milk for breakfast, but not always, and it was always a challenge to buy the right amount of milk. It’s cheaper by the ounce in bulk, but if you don’t use it up fast enough, it goes bad and stinks and is not good even in a bowl of sugar with lumps (i.e. cereal).
So I solved that problem - I stopped eating cereal in milk. Now I have very little reason to buy milk. Once in a blue moon I’ll contemplate cooking something, and have to acquire milk for that, but I will have to acquire other ingredients as well, so that’s not a challenge. And in the interim I don’t have to deal with stinky milk.
And to further destroy your analogy, if milk goes bad, you can throw it out. You don’t have to leave it in MPSIMS stinking up the place.
It’s exactly the same. Throwing out milk is equivalent to deleting forums. Just as it’s silly to leave a spoiled carton of milk in the fridge for months, it’s silly to leave a seasonal forum up year round. You solve the milk problem by throwing it away when it’s no longer drinkable, you solve the forum problem by deleting it when it’s no longer seasonal.
And everything’s cheaper in bulk so I don’t really understand why you have a hangup only about milk. Do you also not buy shampoo because per ounce it’s cheaper to get the 24 oz container than the 3 oz travel size?
I can’t believe that worked.

Psst, it did. There’s no halloween forum anymore.
Ha! I might actually wait awhile before I start missing it…

Just like Granddad after the funeral.

Just like Granddad after the funeral.
Yeah, but if you could skip the whole " rotting carcass is causing mildewy pumpkin goo to slither all over my front porch" that’d be just super.
Somewhere out there, perhaps in Kansas or maybe Nebraska, members of a local farming message board awoke to something … different. The forums on farm equipment, deals, weather, and off-topic discussions seemed the same. The forum on wheat fields was normal; same with the forum on soybean crops. But there was something new in the cornfield forum, something that wasn’t there the moment before they blinked their eyes or refreshed their caches.
The administrators were at a loss as to how it got there. It was as if someone–or some group–just wished it there.
Boo!

And yet we have a 57 post thread whining about just one special forum.
No we don’t. What we have is a thread where some are complaining about leaving a special thread tacked to the front page after we can no longer post to it. If it had been transfered to MPSIMS and allowed to drop due to inactivity , this thread would not have been started.
Your post mischaracterizes this thread.

Shampoo doesn’t go bad. It lasts forever. I have a bottle that, for various reasons, has lasted over 10 years and is still fine.
Basically, the value of milk to me is lower than the hassle it causes. A half-gallon container goes bad before I use it all, and I’d be buying pints every couple days. I’d rather not go to the grocery store every day of the week if I can help it. Obviously other people have different results.

It’s a forum, not a thread, but you are correct, having it hang out at the top of the forum rather than dropping was the issue. But I don’t know how it was resolved. Did they delete Boo! and put all the threads back into MPSIMS? Or did they unsticky the forum? I don’t know how you unsticky a forum. I don’t know how subforums work. I’m under the impression that the subforums by operation of the forum software get listed at the top of their main forum, so it’s not a simple act to unsticky them and let them fall. They are a separate item list than threads.
I don’t think my post mischaracterized this thread. It was complaint about Boo! forum being maintained at the top of MPSIMS, while closed to new posts and out of season.
