It's my birthday and there's no cake.

 Those balloons are red for you?

They show up blue on my tablet. Weird.

… and black for me.

Emojipedia shows that they ought to be red, but it depends on your device/browser/app. I see red.

Meanwhile to Kambuckta I say: :confetti_ball::birthday::tada::gift:

I am finally home after an epic ROAD TRIP with a 90 yr old lady with ever-so-slight memory problems. Like pre-charging her mobile phone, remembering the name of the motel we were booked at, and phone numbers of her immediate family members who were due to take her to the venue.

But apart from all of that, it was a freakin’ journey of joy. I wouldn’t have missed it for the world (well, except for the bit when Beryl went psycho after I pulled off the highway to a windy and crotchety secondary road that I preferred…but we won’t talk about that now).

Still waiting for cake. I shall go to the supermarket in the morning and buy one and EAT IT FOR FUCKING BREAKFAST, just because I can.

The ice cream man don’t forget the ice cream. :stuck_out_tongue:

you can cry if you want to

I have a friend who’s a personal assistant / social worker who briefly had a client who only wanted alcohol and birthday cakes. That’s it - every 2-3 days, a call for more alcohol and a birthday cake.

I guess my point is you may need alcohol too.

It’s about 36 hours since kambuckta got home in her evening time after her epic journey. So her breakfast cake has probably been and gone by now. Perhaps along with Randolph’s idea of some booze to wash it down in style*.

So, kambuckta. How was it? What flavor(s) did you get? Pix?

  • Years ago when I lived in Las Vegas we’d occasionally decide to go out for prime rib and scotch … for breakfast. It’s far better than it sounds.

If you’re gonna live in Vegas, you gotta live Vegas style at least a little bit. Not too much too often though or it’ll wreck ya fer sure.

Ha, no cake yet. I did manage to down a few ‘rum balls’ that my daughter had made in my absence though, so have had a goodly dose of chocolate.

And a glass or three of wine, Chardonnay to be precise.

Thanks for the birthday wishes folks.
