The software development staff at my company was cut by 30% today. Everyone else took a 5% pay cut.
When I got that job, I had two other firm offers on the table. From what I’ve seen on monster.com and elsewhere, jobs aren’t as plentiful as they were a year and a half ago when I was looking last time.
Say a prayer for me, or wish me well.

Meanwhile, I have a bad feeling about what’s going on where I am. No U.S. layoffs yet, but there have been too many “emergency” meeting that my boss has had lately. Something strange is going on, Ijust don’t know what it is.
I could call in sick…that way if what I fear happens, I wouldn’t be there.
