I guess the time travel upgrade on the Enterprise didn’t work as well as planned 
I remember reading (someplace…) that the resemblance to Patrick Stewart is deliberate. The scientist who made the bust listed the kinds of features he had inferred Kennewick Man would have (all I remember is even, symmetrical features) and then added, “kind of like Patrick Stewart.”
