It's raining. A lot.

San Diego here, too. We’re getting this weird thing where its sunny on one side of the building and pouring on the other. Great rainbow weather, though.

Yes, I saw a BEAUTIFUL rainbow on the way to work this morning. It was so bright, I haven’t seen one like that in a while.

Shortly after that, I made a right turn into a retail parking lot, and encountered the World’s Worst Pothole. It’s been bad for about a month, and with every rainstorm it gets bigger and deeper.

South Riverside County checking in - it’s POURING today. It’ll rain steady for an hour and then the sky will just open up and pour for several minutes only to go back to raining steadily. The parking lot has a couple inches of standing water at the moment.

Saturday I saw three rainbows - big and beautiful! And then Sunday I spent the day at Disneyland in a poncho - what an experience! Pretty fun actually! The Matterhorn is WAY scarier in the rain! hehe

Yamirskoonir - I know what you mean! My brother and I came to the conclusion that California makes its asphalt water-soluable (did I spell that right?!) Every road I travel to work and back has massive potholes, dirt everywhere and badly patched areas. It doesn’t help that my town is growing so much they’re finally getting around to widening streets, putting new pipes in the ground and generally destroying what roads would have lasted through the rain. Bah!

The roads are little more than Swiss cheese in many spots. I’m with Yamirskoonir: I say we keep our cars off the roads and drive only on grass or concrete!

Shoot, I’m more than content to stay home while this weather is here. I’ve got my cable modem and my soda, so I’d be set!

This drives me crazy.

I am from Ohio, I am used to large amounts of rain. Rain, in general, does not bother me at all, in fact I like it, but the rain here is just annoying!

For one, the sky can’t decide if it is raining or not! It will be pouring rain and I will look over a see a patch of blue sky and white clouds. That should not happen. The raining while the sun is out is extremely annoying although I do appreciate the beautiful rainbows.

It’s also terribly annoying because, as others have pointed out, Californian roads just aren’t made for rain. Sunday night my friend and I were traveling from LA to Glendale and the rain was coming down in sheets. We could hardly see in front of us and traffic had slowed to a crawl. There was large chunks of water on parts of the freeway that if you drove through at any decent speed, the car would slide.

And now we have tornado warnings! That just isn’t supposed to happen in SoCal.

Just curious - where is this parking lot? (So as to know to be alert for said pothole if I happen to be in that area.)

Thanks
