It's raining. A lot.

Holy cripes, as I type this I’m watching heavy rain, thunder and lightning and even hail! It’s been like this for the last two hours. Time to make some popcorn and put on a horror movie.

Heh. I knew where you were even before I saw your username. I’m in San Francisco, where it’s only been drizzling occasionally, but I’ve been sitting next to a window looking across the bay, and it looks incredibly bleak over there. The sky is about as dark as I’ve ever seen it.

Ha. Now the suns out. But another huge black cloud is moving this way.

Hey, Stuffy and Spoiler Virgin, have there been any mudslides in your area? I’ve seen on the Weather Channel where Southern California, Nevada, and Arizona are supposed to get two days of rain this week. I hope you all know how to swim.

What about that hail, Stuffster! I thought my windows would break for a minute there.

Up here, just below the Candian border, it was sunny and warm today.

You suckers down in Southern California. All we gotta wory about here in the northeast is snow. And ice. And cold, and wind. Well, alright, it just sucks up here.

Still raining in Southern California. Scattered showers for the next few days, say the weatherpeople.

I spent a good deal of yesterday filling sandbags in attempt to dam the the torrid waters of Ruby River (formerly known as Ruby Street) and prevent our basement becoming part of its delta. Standing in the mud, filling sandbags in pouring rain - all I needed was some really bad canned food, about 3 hours of sleep in a wet sleeping bag and someone yelling at me, and it would have been the Complete Infantry Experience.

Note to Mother Nature: Point made. Now stop it.

Meanwhile, in ‘rainy’ Seattle, we’re looking at one of the driest Februaries since they began keeping records

There’s always at least some, but nothing compared to SoCal. However, if the rain keeps up at it present course (we’re approx 120% of normal) it won’t be long.

San Diego has had more rain this year than Seattle.

I actually rode the R1 into Bellingham last week.

[sub]Okay, the sub-freezing temperatures on the late-night ride home weren’t to fun; but still… I rode![/sub]

Here in Las Vegas, we have had more rain this month than we usually get in an entire year, and reports are that it will continue to rain for the next four days.

If this keeps up, I might as well plant rice in the backyard.

Well it’s been snowing in jolly ol’ England. And some really freaky snow to boot. Each “flake” was the size and consistency of a salt grain but about 10x lighter so with the wind blowing I was being attacked from all sides last night. I call the event “being seasoned”.

Headlines are saying this is the fifth highest amount of rain in one winter (so far) on record for the San Diego area.

A shower just finished passing over; the rain was really pounding hard on the roof for a few minutes there.

Maybe you guys can put on The Pogues.

*On the first day of March it was raining
It was raining worse than anything that I have ever seen
I drank ten pints of beer and I cursed all the people there
And I wish that all this raining would stop falling down on me

And it’s lend me ten pounds, I’ll buy you a drink
And mother wake me early in the morning *

Snow, snow, snow everywhere! Up to 2 cm expected, after 15 cm last night. Whew!

Wacky weather these days. Hope everyone’s alright

Well, I just emptied out 4" from my rain gauge from storms last evening, and I’m not anywhere near California.

Wimps.

Checking in from L.A. county. I used to like rain, but the Jan. and Feb. storms have ruined it for me. Too much at once, too cold and windy to take a walk, and can someone tell me how to get the musty damp smell out of my car?

Not to mention all the roads that absolutely disintegrate around here with even a few drops of rain…they’ve been patching in-between storms, but all that does is send chunks of new asphalt flying at my windshield with the next downpour. Potholes - 10,000. Drivers - negative millions. Oh yeah, and those potholes so filled in with water that you can’t tell they’re potholes because of the inch of water covering the road anyhow - hands down reign supreme. I should start driving on the sidewalks!
