My apologies, Twickster. Next time I’ll be sure to read Da Rulz
In the closed thread, my first statement was just a little introduction about me in Japanese, but there’s no need to restate it here. Below is the body copy from my previous post, but with all the Japanese translated into English (or Romaji where necessary, if someone is looking to get those books).
I’ll be taking JLPT level four. I’m a little nervous but I’m going to do my best.
Here’s a list of my study materials.
- Minna No Nihongo (Everyone’s Japanese)1- Coursebook
- Minna No Nihongo (Everyone’s Japanese)1- Workbook
- Minna No Nihongo Honyaku (Everyone’s Japanese Translation Book) - Translation and Grammatical Notes
- Genki (Refreshing, happy, energetic feeling)1- Coursebook
- Genki (Refreshing, happy, energetic feeling)1- Workbook
- White Rabbit Press Kanji 1 Flashcards (covers all kanji for the JLPT level 4 and level 3).
- Kodansha’s Furigana Dictionary
I’m also using a great little program called NihongoUP to build up my reading speed.
I’ve tried going total immersion, but can’t find enough online Japanese programming , i.e., dorama (Japanese serial dramas), to make it work for me.
Anyone else here taking the JLPT level 4 in December? Anyone who’s taken it previously, what were your experiences? Did you pass it on the first try?
I’ve been told I should start with the JLPT level 3, but I’m not that confident yet, and level 4 will be a good gauge of my current level of proficiency.
Thanks everyone!
