Thank you! There was a cake based on it on an episode of Ace of Cakes this weekend which made me realize I haven’t seen it in years. I’ll be watching.
Even though it won’t be “brought to you by Dolly Madison” it will still, I’m sure, make me nostalgic for the fluttery anticipation my sister and i had for these “specials”. We had to take out baths early and get in our night clothes, and behave like great ladies in order to be allowed to watch.
Whenever I see Peanuts, or puppetoons I have an added sense memory of the scent of Johnson & Johnson No More tangles.
I too remember fondly those fluttery feelings. I love fall - and the holiday season. Oct-Dec is my favorite time!
Assuming my cable guide is correct, it’s also showing the following night.
When I take the kids out Trick or Treating, I always ask them, “Did ya get a rock?”

That’s my costume this year! I got a white sheet, cut a hole in it (not wearing a shroud, not messing around with a removable hood), and drew black circles on it with a laundry marker. I think I did a good job with the spacing and size, too.

As a kid I felt bad for Charlie Brown, but as an adult, I think he got what he deserves. He’s always going around saying he has no friends, and how no one likes him, despite the fact he clearly has friends and people may not like him but they tolerate him.
And considering the whiney, passive-agressive behaviour he displays he’s lucky they didn’t beat the hell out of him constantly.

I see NBC put the new Shrek special up against Charlie Brown.

Checked my channel guide. Was STOKED to find I didn’t miss it! (I’m 32 years old and I watch “The Great Pumpkin” and “Charlie Brown Christmas” every year!)
Yeah, watch for my Christmas special thread the day after Thanksgiving. I try to list all the upcoming ones.
Nothing says “Halloween” like Charlie Brown rapping! Yeah, normally I’d blame the new owners of the characters for something like this, but ABC advertised A Charlie Brown Christmas like this under the old ones. I’m sure both Charlie Brown rapping and referring to his friends as the “Peanuts posse” would make Sparky roll in his grave (especially the latter, as he loathed “Peanuts” to begin with), but I’m more concerned about Charlie Brown passing off “thumpin’” as a rhyme for “pumpkin.” At least he hasn’t called anyone his “homies” yet like he did last year. Yet.
He did however say “Word.”
