I can see why McCain got in so many fights when he was younger. He’s a real jerk. I wanted to punch him in the nose several times.
I think McCain won the debate on points, but not by enough to damage Obama overall. I hope.
DISCLAIMER: I didn’t actually watch the debates(or read this thread) because nothing said at this point will change my candidate preference, but I predict that polls will say Obama won the debate again. The simple fact of matter is this, no matter the content of thier words, Obama looks better on TV. It’s Nixon vs. Kennedy over again.
Was it me or did McCain just kinda bullshit his answers, waited for Obama to say something, then took them, rephrased them, and then bashed Obama for not supporting Obama’s positions?
It seems that Obama supporters want more blood and are disappointed when Obama doesn’t rise to the bait.
Me, I thought Obama explained his plans plainly and clearly.

I’d have given one kidney and my hair and six of my teeth if just once when Obama had said McCain Schieffer had shouted out “Kill him!”
This was by far the best of the three. Bob Schieffer was perfect, I loved his directness and the ‘sitting at the table’ atmosphere made it seem like they were really getting down to business. Allowing the candidates to wander around the hall with a wireless mic was simply two stump speeches at the same time.
Bob asks, “These remarks your respective campaigns have made to your opponents, will you restate them now?”

I was curious if anyone else caught this part, when they were talking about nominating SCOTUS judges where McCain said he would nominate people who were qualified. Then he said that supporting Roe in his mind didn’t coincide with his view of a qualified candidate. I thought that was a shitty way to say no. If you won’t support a nominee unless they oppose Roe v. Wade, just say so.

Kudos to Bob Schieffer. He tends to be overlooked as a journalist, but he did the best job of the four moderators.
Either John McCain thinks Sarah Palin has a child with autism or John McCain thinks Sarah Palin has autism. I couldn’t tell.
