It's the official last Presidential Debate thread!

Well, Ireland has a disproportionate share of GDP devoted to the housing industry, hence our getting hammered now. Still, while individual taxes went up yesterday, the corporate rate remained unchanged. Sarkozy is not happy…

Anyhoo, so far I agree more with Obama’s approach tonight than McCain’s. Especially the talk of people (and the federal government) not living beyond their means.

Me, either.

Ooh–that was a good one. McCain did just admit to not being Bush. And they have been seen in different places at the same time, so there’s that…

Fuck you, McBush.

“If you wanted to run against President Bush, you should have run four years ago” is possibly the first time I’ve heard McCain have any kind of somewhat good response to the McSame moniker.

“If you wanted to run against George Bush, you should have run 4 years ago.”

So why didn’t you, Johnny? Maverick of the Republican Party.

I think I’m going to call him that from now on. Thank you.

“I know how to eliminate programs!!!” Sounds like he just want to cut 'em willy nilly.

And an overhead projector “in his hometown?” His hometown is CHICAGO!!! It’s not like we’re talking about Podunkville.

Shout out to Fox, lmao.

The audience laughs when Obama gets off a zinger. McSame is toast.

Look, I’m biased. Obviously.

But McCain’s just really not speaking well tonight. He seems to be fumbling and stumbling. Seriously, he looks unwell.

Not to mention a fucking planetarium system is hardly a fucking “overhead projector”.

That’s a good line- it’ll get some play. It’s hard to back up, though.

Obama just got in a Fox News dig. I can’t believe I have to leave now. This might even be interesting.

I like that off the top off his head, Obama was able to whip out some examples of “standing up to your party.” Not like I think that’s some watermark for the office, but McCain was going for an “aha …” and Obama met it well.

It’s not an overhead projector–it’s some kind of telescope/projector for star shows for the Adler Planetarium to encourage science education.
Did McCain just say he opposed the Iraq War?

Oh, totally. I was just trying to get the post in before the subject expired.

(and no, I’m not talking about John McCain! :stuck_out_tongue: )

You’re not Bush? Could have fooled me.

(Please, please, let this be the basis of an ad.)

That wasn’t a bad line at all, I agree.

He really doesn’t look good tonight; the jowls are really showing. On the other hand, Obama should have had a quick shave.

Oh god, this is going to go well.

Obama should have mentioned that he opposed the Democrats on the Iraq War Resolution.

Here we go! Oh, if we had only had all those town hall meetings.
