It's time for ChiDope planning

Keep me in mind. I will probably (but not certainly) be there.

I was hoping to attend. My due date is May 1! :frowning:

Only if you’re planning on holding it at Lutheran General Hospital. lee’s baby is due May 1.

Don’t interfere with my train fantasy!

Besides, the other option is driving, which would suxxor. On the train, I could read. I find flying a stressful enough experience that if I can make a journey in a reasonable amount of time on the ground, that is always preferable.

If the alternative is driving, the train might not be such a bad idea.

It’s been about 35 years since I was last in Chicago. Color me interested, but hardly definite.

New poster, new to Chi area… can I come too?

I will try to be there. With any luck, that will be right after my divorce is final, so I’ll be both in a celebratory mood and legally able to fornicate!

Whiskey, if you go, I’ll take care a’ya. I’m new-ish to the Dopefest thing too, so I’ll need someone with whom to huddle in a corner.

I’ll most likely be there! Gundy and Whiskey, everyone is welcome at a Dopefest:)

Heck, I went to my first Dopefest when I was a newbie of about 2 months, and look at me now!

I won a ‘party’ at Mr. Cynical’s favorite bar* . They’ve already assured me that I could wait 'til April or May for the party, but I don’t know if they will let me have it on a Saturday night.
If all goes well, we’ll have Saturday night all planned out for us.
Whadda think?

*yes, I know it says they don’t have a Chicago location, but they do!

**Kyla, ** you took the words right out of my mouth. If I can make this one, I will most likely be taking the train. Much cheaper.

Goes to show you. Woman doesn’t even know what my Favorite Bar’s website is.

so I forgot the ‘l’. sue me

Have I ever mentioned how friggin’ COOL Jane D’oh is?

I’m in Valparaiso, IN, and I should be free that weekend…I’d very much like to attend. And I can drive people <g>.

Depending on location, I might actually try to make this one. I didn’t go to last year’s because I was still fairly new to SDMB and wasn’t sure what it would be like. (Which was a shame, because from the post-ChiDope thread it sounded like a good time). I also couldn’t figure out how to explain to my wife that I was going out to spend time with a bunch of people I knew only from occasional on-line contacts.

But after regaling her with some of the jokes and comments from the board, not to mention the responses to my rant on her health problems, she’ll probably want to come along (if only to keep me out of trouble).

Chalk me down as another “I’ll definitely be there if I can but I don’t often schedule stuff that far ahead.”

At last year’s ChiDope, I took the train from Detroit to Chicago and back again. The price was right (under 100 dollars round-trip), but the scenery does get kind of boring after the first couple of hours. I think traveling in a group would definitely be more interesting.

Put me down on the list as a maybe at this point. Money is always a factor in my decision making.

I haven’t been to one in a while, so I’ll check into getting to this one, but I think that’s close to my sister-in-law’s due date, so there’s a chance I might not make it.
