Its time for Israel to launch Operation Susa

You seem to have extremely strong feelings about this issue.

Your feelings also seems dramatically different than that of Feyyed.

If you don’t mind my asking, what is your opinion of Feyyed’s statements regarding the conflict.

Furthermore I’d be interested to find out your feelings regarding Cyprus.

Would you mind sharing with the rest of us since you’re advocating ethnically cleansing the Middle Eastern Jews to Siberia.

I’m the only one here whose opinion counts.

This isn’t a matter of the Israelis out maneuvering or surprising someone, this is a straightforward calculation of what is necessary to resist a known level of firepower, and preparing against something the Israelis have done before. There’s not much room here for the Israelis to be cleverer than the Iranians.

Because I have no evidence that they do? They don’t have an aircraft carrier, either. Last I heard, what they had was less powerful than what the US already has, much less any future equipment.

If I didn’t know any better the guy who regularly claims that rich white Ameircan atheists should be terrified of being rounded up and murdered by the government seems more sympathetic towards the government the executes people for being gay than the country that shelters gays who would be executed for being gay.

Would you mind explaining this seeming discrepancy to me because it seems quite weird for someone who regularly expresses absurdly paranoid bigoted beliefs about Christians and who regularly talks about how terrified he is of Christians despite the privileges he has due to being white and well-off.

Than that of … who?

I don’t know who F? is.

I don’t have “feelings” regarding Cyprus. I have opinions.

Cyprus is Greek and everyone aware of history knows that’s true.

I don’t advocate ethnic cleansing. I advocate reality.

If the supporters of a particular religion want to have their own geographical country, the least they should ask for is for not wanting to steal other people’s land.

He’s not suggesting ethnic cleansing, he’s suggesting merely that the jooz in isreal be “encouraged” to move to Siberia.

Why this solution is preferable to “encouraging” the people calling themselves Palestinians to move to Jordan or Egypt, I don’t know. Might have something to do with joos.

There are joos who have been living in Israel for generations. He suggests they should move away and give their land to Arabs. But that wouldn’t be stealing, though, I guess.

With all due respect are you being serious?

You’ve expressed extremely strong opinions about the Israel/Palestine conflict and you’re now confessing you’re completely ignorant about the Palestinian Prime Minister?

Sorry, but what you’ve done is comparable to someone who expressed extremely strong opinions about the US upon being asked their opinion of Barack Obama proclaimed “who the fuck is he?”

Sorry for my assumptions.

I assumed someone who expressed such strong opinions regarding Israel/Palestine would have at least a rudimentary knowledge of the conflict and wouldn’t be so embarrassingly ignorant of the conflict that they didn’t know who the Palestinian Prime Minister was and upon hearing his name wouldn’t go “who’s that”?

I profusely apologize and won’t make the mistake of assuming you’d be knowledgeable enough to pass a quizz on the conflict that any 12-year-old Palestinian or Israeli would be expected to pass.

That said, if you’re so ignorant of the conflict that you didn’t even recognize the name to the Palestinian Prime Minister then why do you have such strong opinions about it.

That seems to me an extremely odd claim to make, particularly considered that a third of Cyprus is controlled by Turks who’ve lived there far longer than whites have lived in America.

Why are you showing such callous disregard for Cyprus’ Muslim population?

If I didn’t know any better the guy who regularly claims that rich white Ameircan atheists should be terrified of being rounded up and murdered by the government seems more sympathetic towards the government the executes people for being gay than the country that shelters gays who would be executed for being gay.

Would you mind explaining this seeming discrepancy to me because it seems quite weird for someone who regularly expresses absurdly paranoid bigoted beliefs about Christians and who regularly talks about how terrified he is of Christians despite the privileges he has due to being white and well-off.

What in the world are you babbling about? What do your allegations about me or the backwards social policies of the Iranians have to do with whether or not they can design a nuclear program to resist air strikes?

Oh, so you’re saying you’ve never raged about how insane “Christianists” in the US were while mocking people who thought the Iranian government(which executes gays and “apostates”) was “irrational”.

Apologies.

I mush have had you confused with another poster.

Why indeed?

This is the same question I always ask, again and again, and it’s never answered.

People do have such strong opinions about Israel. People who have never set foot in the Middle East, who don’t have any family or heritage there, who - as you just revealed - don’t know even the basic political facts about it - boy, do they ever have strong negative opinions about it.

And again - where are the passionate, heated arguments and proclamations - from people with no personal connections whatsoever - about Ulster, Kosovo, Basque Country, Abkhazia, Cyprus…etc…shit, read the Wikipedia article on disputed territories. It’s fascinating. There are so many of them. Yet nobody ever talks about them.

Co-incidentally, there are no jooz in these places.

Won’t fly. Already been tried.

It didn’t work…because Stalinist economics and administration don’t work. I have no doubt that if a free-enterprise Jewish settlement had been established at Birobidzhan, and if skilled Jewish scientists, agronomists, engineers and tradesman had moved there, along with enough others to provide the manpower, the Autonomous Jewish Oblast would have thrived. The area was not some giant icy wasteland; it had (and still has) tremendous natural resources.

The problem was nobody wanted to live there and be a puppet of Stalin. The Birobidzhan policy was, “you can have this land, if you do what I tell you to do, believe what I tell you to believe, etc.” Israel offered the opportunity for freedom, even if they had to fight for it.

Yeah, but even if it had succeeded, it wouldn’t have been Israel - it would have just been this country that happened to have a lot of Jews in it.

No, I’m saying that none of that has anything to do with defense against air strikes.

I know it didn’t. It did not include land grab and mass killing of undesirables.

A first in Soviet history!

Not really.

There’s enough worship of the Soviet kind of mass death.

Some people enjoy witnessing their own kind annihilate other groups of people.

It has been happening all through human history the past 3,000 years of recorded history.

The land grab and indiscriminate killing in the M.E. is no exception.

Well, thank goodness that the Iranian leaders are sane and well-balanced people then.

You know, I seem to recall America bombing Serbia to bring about an independentish Kosovo. And the IRA, before it turned to smuggling and drug dealing as a reliable revenue stream, gained a significant share of its income from American donors. So I think your position that people are inordinately mean to Israel may be rather weak. The Basques, you’ve got me there, most people have never heard of them.

Of course those are more complex issues. Kosovo, for example, has the conflicting interests of the Albanian majority and their right to self determination against the protection of the oppressed Serbian minority, which is only a minority because of e3thnic cleansing by the Nazis from which the Albanians benefited but which was effectively recognised by the later government of Tito in the interests of stability and unity. Complex, even Byzantine, as Balkan conflicts often are. There’s a far more black and white issue with Israel, though. One day a gang of terrorists seized power and grabbed as much land as they could while evicting and murdering people for not being of the race allegedly appointed by god to rule that land, a pattern which they’d already well established. They then spent decades expanding their territory at the expense of the natives, instituting a racist dictatorship and being generally insufferable. You know, going on about how magical desert-greening Jews are uniquely put upon because no-one criticises other countries for massacring people and stealing their land, and so on.

This is a very funny thread.
