SA has actually backed off the claim that it was physically impossible for there to be rape. Now he’s just saying it wasn’t proven to be rape. That’s a really, really big change- as much as he’ll claim that there’s no change.
Perhaps in another 10,000 posts he’ll admit that Sandusky very likely did commit rape. Of course, he’ll claim that he hasn’t changed his view at all.
But this thread has given me so much amusement that I wouldn’t mind at all if it continues that long.
I admit finding amusement in the idea that when Paterno heard McQueary’s report, he likely assumed this was just an incident of harmless naked hugging, like that other incident of harmless naked hugging he heard about two years earlier.
Paterno’s not too bright in Starving Artist’s world, it seems.
Nope, he’s making a stronger (yet more vile) claim that the jury affirmatively concluded there was no rape.
The distinction between this and what you just wrote apparently goes way over SA’s head.
It appears to me that to whatever ridiculous lengths I may be going, fifteen or twenty frothers are dashing along right beside me, nipping furiously and impotently at my heels.
Which is most foolish? Hard to say, but at least I have a jury’s verdict and a huge void of Paterno cover up evidence on my side.

The issue is how many people in the thread either agree or disagree with me and/or are telling me I’m wrong vs. how many are telling me I’m right. My answer was in regard to those assertions, and it was correct. There is no doubt that the number overall amongst the board in general would be higher.
However, keep in mind that your poll may backfire. A couple of spinoff threads were attempted during the first stage of the thread in which people were attempting to drum up sentiment in their favor as a result of being unable to defeat me on the facts, and not only did they find the threads they created unwelcome by the mods who felt that one huge thread on the Paterno issue was enough, but amongst the readership in general a much higher percentage of posters retained their senses and found the concept of the paper towel tube to be a legitimate attempt to ferret out whether or not what McQueary happened upon was rape or something else.
I absolutely knew at the time I said that that some idiot would come forward with an “Oh, yeah? Oh, yeah? Well, how would you like me to start a poll to find out just how many people think you’re wrong?” (As if that would finally prove apples fall to the ceiling.) It’s gratifying to see you were the idiot to step forth and take the bullet.
Well, we can at least assume if there’d been anything wrong, ol’ JoePa would’ve politely held his tongue.
