Damn, Bryan! I wish I had that facility (guessing the plot) while reading Ethan Frome in high school.
Hey, you pedophilic sympathizer, that’s not what my other thread was about. I’d explain it, but a retarded fucktube like yourself can’t quite grasp nuance, so it’s best to not even try. Besides, you senile rapey old coot, I was trying to keep this civilized.
Now are you going to answer the question I posed above, or are you just going to go for the low hanging fruit?
That blog is so sad.
Not a single link to a site for donations to support Sandusky’s victims.
I know it’s very important to you that readers of this thread not think of you as some sort of loser.
So I believe you- I think that when you come post here, you’re not sacrificing any quality time elsewhere.
But this is besides the point, of course- the point being that you think “standing” means your knees must be locked. In case you haven’t learned yet, “standing” can contain multitude of knee-joint positions- from locked to slightly bent to somewhat bent and so on, all the way down to “crouching”.
Knowledge passed on. I feel good about myself.
Yeah, yeah, I know it’s duh-obvious, but all NLP’s original comment said was that it was “bound to ruffle some feathers”, so I thought I’d cut to the chase and ask directly and bluntly instead of dealing with how NLP is implying said feathers will ruffle.
Kinda like someone who links to some website about the Kennedy assassination, saying it’s “bound to ruffle some feathers”. I like to ask things like “So, I gather the author is suggesting aliens are involved, right?”
It’s mockery, I admit. Socratic mockery. But it beats letting people try to get away with arguing by insinuation.
I do note, that after more than a year, the two petitions mentioned have this going for them:
To petition the NCAA to remove the sanctions - 1,680 supporters out of 28,320 needed.
To petition for due process for JoePa and PSU - 2,709 supporters out of 27,291 needed.
Oops. Talk about backing a losing horse, er, paper towel tube.
Who does one petition to get “due process” for Paterno and PSU?
There was no plot worth guessing. It was just a portrait of a loser who didn’t have the guts either to change his pathetic life or to end it.
Draw the obvious parallel here, if you like.
Oh, right, it’s from “the other guy”.
Reading the petition more closely, it’s for, hell, let me quote it:
The petition is to be sent to the PSU Board of Trustees, whereupon I assume they will wipe their ass with it.
All I know is you can not petition the Lord with prayer. At least thats what I have been told.
I believe someone brought forth that proposition while in seminary school.
Just 1998, huh? There goes that wacky specificity again.
Exactly. The two petitions remain quite silent about events from 2001-onward.
Oh yeah, I just watched Role Models recently and I forgot to drop this here.
I can solemnly and sincerely ensure the membership of this message board that I have never run over any girl scouts in my Yaris.
:dubious:
Thats awfully specific. Just how many boy scouts have you run over?
None!
[sub]in my Yaris[/sub]
Dearest dipshit,
Bryan tallied TWO "A"s – ONE was YOURS and the other belonged to your [del]alter-ego[/del] er…little friend. Thus my objection to ONE of them. Namely YOURS. So your GRAND TOTAL of “nameless people that agree with you” remains at ONE.
Capice?
Now go hump your tricycle.
Good boy!
re, the StarvingArtist/PaperTowelRoll/JerrySandusky/JoePaterno Poll.
The votes were cast, counted and recorded as overwhelmingly one-sided. So, how to interpret these results? I’d imagine some would like to see it as a validation of present accuracy and future success.
Personally, it’s not too often that I find myself on the opposite spectrum of popular convention like this. Despite that, my confidence in the unpopular position remains unphased with a strong belief that as more information becomes available, people will come to agree that Joe Paterno did, in fact, most appropriately fulfill his moral and legal obligations to the health and humanity of today’s society.
The way I see it, such an overwhelmingly one-sided result can take on several meanings:
- Nobody wants to agree with SA. That’s fine, but don’t let your personal feelings for him get in the way of your pursuit of the truth.
- This forum, which seemingly takes such great pride in critical thinking, is, perhaps, more vulnerable to group-thinking than previously thought.
- The above point simply represents an opportunity for a few smart people to reconsider their positions come out of this thing looking like champions.
Besides, overwhelming public sentiment didn’t do a thing to prevent the following influential group of public opinion from looking like fools: bit.ly/SanduskyScandalMediaPoll
Not trying to be critical, but I find myself wondering how everyone at StraightDope would’ve scored on the ^^ above poll ^^ without the right answers already there.
Anyway, my only hope is to open a few minds (in a non-confrontational kind of way) to the possibility of a far more sinister creature quietly lurking beneath all the public hysteria that was unleashed upon the release of a Grand Jury Presentment that took a once-beloved man who showed up to work every single day for 61 years with one single purpose to instill in the hearts and minds of his kids, the surrounding community and society at large (“Believe deep down in your heart that you are destined to do great things in life”) and that GJP immediately redefined him as the enabler of a serial child rapist and protector of a football brand at the expense of scores of defenseless little boys who would be subjected to the most heinous, soul-depriving almost beyond comprehension of the human mind. That GJP triggered a nuclear reaction with an explosion of moral outrage, and the media kept feeding the bloodthirsty American public with higher daily doses of lower, more deplorable news which further fanned the flames of moral outrage to drive record media ratings.
I’m telling everyone who’s willing to listen that they still have a chance to emerge from the depths of this group-thinking, mob-mentality, panic-attack, public hysteria as a big, bright, beacon of guiding light that blasts the righteous truth right through the deepest darkest most vulnerable crevices of the human mind. Anyone here willing to reconsider their position before it’s too late? Would be kinda neat to say you were among a very small group of independent thinkers that didn’t get carried away in the avalanche of highly polarized public hysteria.
