It's time to officially Pit Joe Paterno and the Penn State football program.

Here is what the above quote should say, what it would say if a normal moral person was to write it:

“he wished he had done more because of damage done [del]to his football team[/del] to children”

Your misplaced priorities regarding this make you a truly horrible person. Horrible.

What a hilarious load of crap. Cops appreciate being notified when children might be in danger- Joe Pat could have notified the cops, but he chose not too. That certainly would have belonged in this situation- Sandusky did, of course, continue to abuse children for many years.

He had enough knowledge that a reasonable adult would have assumed at least meant it was very possible that children were being harmed. Stopping possible harm to children should have been his first priority- it obviously wasn’t.

Why is it nothing ever gets blamed on the lesbians? People hope to sneak a peek?

Oh, there are no such things as “lesbians” in SA world. Don’t you know, all they need is the right man to show them what they’re missing?

Also, Post #6000. Woohoo.

Suck it, losers!

Before this thread, I didn’t realize just how prevalent sickos were.

This thread doesn’t show that sickos are prevalent, just stubborn and repetitious.

“HEY, THIS ISN’T ANAL SEX RIGHT? THAT’D BE PAINFUL?”

“Nope, just keep your mouth shut and keep that soap away from me…”

Oh and Starving, that whole thing about Paterno not being an investigator? Didn’t you suggest that McQueary investigate the matter and interview witnesses before deciding whether to pass information to the police?

History is really not your strength:
1982 - Kern County, CA, McCuans
1983 - Manhattan Beach, CA, McMartins
1984 - Malden, MA, Amiraults, et. al.
1984 - Pittsfield, MA, Baran
1984 - The Bronx, NY, 5 separate cases
1985 - Maplewood, NJ, Kelly
etc.
1990 - First commercial ISP established and ARPANET decommissioned
1996 - Final restrictions on commercial traffic removed

And the McCuan and McMartin cases arose from a generalized fear that had been prevalent through the late 1970s.

I can’t figure out whether this reflects the way that you deliberately filter the world you live in or whether you are just making this stuff up. It certainly has no bearing on reality.
Certainly, in the 60s, there would have been a lot of high school guys who would have been repulsed by the idea of anal sex. (There may still, be; I have not seen any polls taken on the subject.) On the other hand, it was not universally rejected and I certainly encountered straight guys talking about it. (If nothing else, it was considered an effective method of birth control.)

Trying to link an interest in sodomy to the rise of “teh gays” simply makes you appear to be one more homophobe who was either unaware of life around you or is willing to “remember” a history that never occurred.

Hell, the reaction to the Roman Polanski case was big news in the 70s, primarily because it involved an underage girl.

Definite history fail.

It also fails the logic test. If “most guys” were that repulsed, no amount of lobbying and advocacy was going to make a difference. Tyranny of the majority and all that.

This guy gets it: An Open Letter to Sports Illustrated

Let it go, Starkers. Nobody’s buying your sock act.

Roman Polanski in the 70s, Jerry Lee Lewis before him, Errol Flynn before him, and Charlie Chaplin before him. All dallied with young girls; all were the center of big scandals.

“Look, everybody! A Penn State alumnus who writes a blog about Penn State football thinks Penn State’s beloved football coach got an unfair shake! Who wants to apologize first?”

Pete “NoLittlePlans” Young

Not much new in that article, I agree.

But one thing I did get out of it is that it appears from the info on the right side of that site that PSU was 8-4 this year. I had thought that program was expected to collapse.

They had a senior QB who had a solid season, and they kept enough upperclassmen around to have a decent year.

They’re going to be toast next year, though.

If that’s the case, then I’m glad I don’t. I don’t think I WANT to get it, Starving Artist. It’s too depressing.

SA trying to minimize the damage done to those boys is a typical defense mechanism used by pedophiles to justify their behavior in their own sick minds. Hey, if the kid’s not screaming in agony, then it couldn’t be that bad! He was probably even enjoying it! No wonder Paterno didn’t do anything about it!

But I do agree with him that gay Jews and the internet are responsible for everything that is bad in the world.

Just to keep things on track here…and I know how you people love to cast your opponents in the worst, most dishonest, light possible, but I never blamed gays or the internet for anything, and most especially not Jews. Where the hell did that last one come from. I’ve never said jack-shit about Jews at all!

What I did say was that the eager liberal champions of gayhood, in their eagerness to champion and make it appear normal in the face of its opposition which tended to regard it as abnormal, undertook to bring anal sex into the mainstream of public consciousness and to belittle the suggestion that there was anything wrong with it. I once had a spirited argument by PM with a liberal poster here who I am nevertheless quite fond of over this very issue. She just absolutely could not believe I or anyone else could honestly find the idea of anal sex nasty. I replied, as delicately as I could: “You have got to be fucking kidding me!”

Anyway, the point in bringing it up was that Joe Pa grew up in an era where buttsecks just wasn’t part of the public dialog and in fact was considered a sickness and perversion to the degree it was considered at all, and as an adult in the Ozzie & Harriet mold I doubt very much that anyone in his circle broached the subject with any degree of regularity, much less in regard to it going on between 6’4" football coaches and small children. Most men find digital prostate exams at least uncomfortable and the idea that a man that size could successfully carry out copulation with a child that small simply doesn’t compute unless you’re willing to assume a lot of tearing and blood and screaming and other things that typically prevent anyone but the most sadistic type of people from engaging in behaviors that result in them. And on those occasions when sadistic, evil people are willing to subject their victims to that kind of torture they rarely do so in public venues. So all in all it’s pretty idiotic to expect that Joe Paterno should have extrapolated from McQueary’s alleged comments that Sandusky was anally raping the kid in the shower that night, much less to expect that he would have foreseen ten more years of it in the future.

With regard to the internet, it isn’t the internet’s fault that some people abuse it and that other people idiotically panic and become paranoid because of that abuse anymore than it’s a firearm’s fault if someone uses it to commit murder. The fault where the enternet lies is with people and programs like To Catch A Predator that sensationalize and magnify the problem all out of proportion, and also the human propensity so clearly on display in this thread toward emotional rather than rational reactions to child abuse.

So in point of fact Starving Artist has disparaged neither gays - among whom he’s had friends for nigh on to thirty years now and which is a perfectly valid statement to make - nor has he disparaged the internet. And he most certainly has not disparaged the Jews given that he’s never said, once more, jack-shit, about them.

That is all.

Oh, wait…no, it isn’t. What do we call it when people have to lie about what I said? Why, we say I’m…

WINNING!!!

Okay, now that’s all. I hereby return you to your regularly scheduled and utterly dishonest little shitfest.

But I mean that in the nicest way possible.
