- This was pointed out on another forum I frequent–a lot of guys commented how ugly this girl looked, which simply isn’t true. She has no makeup on and has a butch haircut, but that’s really about the worst you could say. There’s a website somewhere that has photos of movie and TV celebrities caught without makeup, and most of them look pretty nauseating too. As for the butch haircut, a lot of women do that in the service to avoid the hassle of dealing with longer hair. Even though they are permitted grow it longer than that, it’s simply much easier to cut it short for the duration.

- As to what she did, we do not know the full circumstances yet, but I agree in that from a historical perspective, the stupid frat-boy initiation stuff we have been shown so far is “torture” in only the mildest sense of the word. Read up on what has been used in other wars, or even… what Saddam was up until recently doing to people he’d arrested in his own country. When I think of things like “torture”, I tend to think of things like being burned with red-hot branding irons or welding torches, sawing off limbs, ect. Being forced into doing stupid poses while naked doesn’t even rank on my scale of horrors.

Oh the atrocities !! Oh please !!! I’ll take that to being flayed alive, having electrodes on various parts of my body, etc. any day of the week.
Also, as others have said, what did the previous ruler of that country do to his own people? Then again, ask the people of Kuwait about the courteous treatment shown to them by invading Iraqi soldiers.
Another thing that upsets me is that American troops were sent to fight in a foreign country by an administration whose people did their darndest to avoid fighting in a war when it was their turn:
- George “Fought Vietnam In Texas” Bush; Dick “Had Other Priorities” Cheney; John Ashcroft, etc.
I will be outraged if “Dubya” (or others) uses these soldiers as a scapegoat and excessively punishes them or expresses extreme moral outrage when they themselves escaped the “horrors” of war.
AND not to get away from the OP - heck I think Ms England is cute. (I’ve been trying to cite a better photo than the one in the OP but the only other one I can find is the infamous “leash” portrait.
