I think you’re confusing this song with Jan & Dean’s “One-Piece Topless Bathing Suit.”

And how often do you actually see, on a bikini or anywhere else, white fabric with yellow polka dots?

WOW! Do women actually WEAR these things at the beach? I say "wear"because these bikinis seem to be jsut a few postage stamps…are these things legal?

Back in the day polka dots were generally either

Black on white colored fabric
White on black colored fabric
Contrasting colors (red on green, etc.)

With that historical context, I always imagined the bikini to be bright yellow fabric with black polka dots or perhaps darker yellow with white polka dots. Although yellow with purple (contrasting colors) could be an outside possibility.

I like this theory. Although the original question seems undetermined, this seems like the most likely theory presented.
