I have an iPhone 5s and use iTunes to manage my music. Recently I noticed that many of the songs on my iPhone won’t play, they have a red circle with a small square inside next to the song. (like what you see in the app store when you get a new app) I have plenty of open space on the phone. taping on the circle does nothing.
If I am at home and open iTunes and click share the songs will play, but only as long as iTunes is open on the computer. The version of iTunes is the latest, and my phone is due for the latest update (got notification last night, I usually wait a few days before upgrading in case there is a bug)
Any suggestions how I can restore the songs I have on my phone?

Quick google search brought those up. The songs may need to be re-synched.

FWIW, of the solutions listed, unchecking syncing music, preforming a sync and then re-checking sync an re-syncing worked for me.
