I’ve spent three years relearning all my High School Math. On Monday I will write my Calculus final of which I’m going into with a 90%. I also just aced the last assignment. I’m feeling pretty proud of this! It’s been a long haul and hasn’t always been easy. I feel that I am well prepared for going back to school in the fall in a Comp-Sci program. And even better…I feel proud of doing something I have longed to do for so long. I’m such a logical analytical guy that I really want Science and Math to be part of my identity and who I can claim to be. I can’t wait to let all my friends know. It’s starting to happen! :D:D:D
Yay You!
I have a Comp Sci degree myself - lots of fun stuff to learn. And plenty of people hereon the Dope to answer questions along the way. Always feel free to PM if you want.
Just think how much more math you have to look forward to as a CS major too. Probability and Matrices are fun but my favorite was one of the last math courses, Discrete Math.
Congratulations. This is something I would like to do as well. High school math, starting at about the advanced algebra level, completely bitch-slapped me. I did very well with all subjects requiring the use of the other side of my brain (which side is that? left? right?), but math defeated me.
Now and then I try an online tutorial, but I’m usually all at sea again by about page three.
So I admire you very much for taking it on again and conquering it.
