I've got some dried, salted bluefish here

…and have no idea what to do with it. I’m always tempted to buy this stuff, just because it’s weird-looking, but today I actually bought a few pounds, and when I got home realized that I had no clue how to cook it.

Steam it? Simmer it? Microwave it? Bake it? Broil it? Saute it?

How much?
One fish?
Two fish?

what about :

Red fish?

I was reading too fast and and manged to mix up the title and the posters name and got, “…tired, rubber bluefish”

Made me look, though!

Try looking for recipes that call for salt cod. Normally, it has to be soaked in several changes of water to rehydrate the flesh and remove most of the salt, which can take hours. Once it’s rehydrated, you can cook it any old way, but it’s commonly simmered and then flaked and used in composed dishes like Janssen’s Temptation or codfish balls/patties.
