I've Got Three Books To Give Away...

I’ve got three books here that have never been read.
I’m sure they’re old, and fans of these authors probably have already read them long ago.

They are all hardcover:

Nora Roberts - ‘Tears Of The Moon’ (Dust cover is perfect)

Nora Roberts - ‘Sacred Sins’ (Dust cover is perfect)

Danielle Steel - ‘The House On Hope Street’ (Dust cover on the back is a bit crinkled at the bottom)

If anyone wants these silly things, please let me know (PM me), and I’ll send 'em to you.

Take one or all, I don’t care.
You can just have them, as I don’t want anything for the nasty things.
I’m just glad to get rid of them!

Just get them the hell off my bookshelves, for Og’s sake!
They’re ‘contaminating’ my Off-The-Wall-Taste-Of-The-Macabre books that I so dearly love and collect!

I think I got them through a book club, for some stupid reason…as I found them about 4 months or so ago, in the trunk of my car, still in the box they came in!

I had to open it up, just to see what the hell was inside, because these types of books are definitely not my type of reading, that’s for damn sure!

My husband was laughing, and said, “What the hell were YOU thinkin’, ordering this crap?! It’s not anything that you would EVER be caught dead reading!”

So very, very, VERY true!
This type of reading is just not my thing at all.
They’re a far, FAR cry from my usual, and much preferred (and loved!) crime novels, history novels, horror and Sci-Fi novels, and my much loved serial killer novels!

I have no idea why they were addressed to me, and I don’t even know why the hell I even paid for the things, because I do NOT, NOT, NOT like this type of crap!

I don’t believe in just throwing away ANY sort of book, no matter what it is, as that SO goes against the grain for me (I’d probably have a permanent tic if I threw them into the trash)…so I think the best thing to do is just pass them on to someone that would enjoy them.

So, if anyone has the urge to read this lovey-dovey-depressing crap, let me know, and they’re YOURS!

I’ll send them out this coming Friday, if there are any takers.

-Liberally edited, but not taken out of context (I don’t think).

I see you’re going for the hard sell on these books. I think I’ll have to pass!

Ha! Hard sell, for sure!
If you had any idea of how much I detest this type of drivel, you’d be amazed.

When I worked at a used book store, we donated our surplus books to a local book bank, which provided books to hospitals, prisons, and such. Romance novels are quite popular among female inmates, according to a friend who was once a guard at the County Jail. I guess they provide a safe means of escape.

I live in Hillbilly, USA. We have nothing that even resembles a book bank.
I wonder if the local library would take them?
If there are no takers here, I guess I’ll pass them on to the library.

Damned drivel…
I can’t even GIVE the crap away…

I was just thinking about Christmas music, and I read the thread title to the tune of “I Saw Three Ships”.

I’ve Got Three Books to Give Away,
On Christmas day, on Christmas day;
I’ve Got Three Books to Give Away,
On Christmas day in the morning.

This has a vaguely pissed-off Dr. Seuss feel to it. Sorry I can’t help; I prefer historical romances and no Danielle Steel for any reason ever. But I agree a library or hospital might take them.

Safe, as in using the books to dig a tunnel from their cells?

While those particular books don’t appeal to me, perhaps I can suggest the Paper Back Swap website? It’s a great way for getting rid of those books that you really don’t want, and in exchange possibly getting something that you do want. I listed about a dozen books on there and have mailed out two so far. In exchange, I’ve gotten one book that I’ve been looking for casually for years, and another for a series I’m collecting. Sure I could have ebayed and found them, or even amazon used books would have worked. But I didn’t want them that bad if ya know what I mean. Anyway, give it a look.

Thank you, Atrael! I’ll do that.
Anything…just to be rid of them.
