I've lost my eBay virginity...

I just posted my first-ever item for sale! (and no, I’m not going to link to it so don’t get the idea I’m looking for free publicity).

Took me longer than I thought. I became quite indecisive about the wording of my title, and description, and the size of the photo, and which of the additional little tiny add-ons I should go for (Bold listing? Gallery photo?).

I also wasn’t sure what kinds of payment I should accept, or how I charge for shipping ahead of time (I did the calculated shipping cost thing, hope it works).

But it’s done! I pressed submit…and now I’ll try to keep from visiting my item every hour to see if anyone’s viewed it or, hope beyond hope, actually bids on it.

Is this Mindless enough for you? Just thought I’d share…

Congratulations…I hope you get a bidding war going and sell whatever it is for alot

Just remember to do everything you’d want done if YOU were the buyer and you’ll do alright

Oh yeah if whoever bids on your item has a feedback of zero…send them a little note BEFORE the auction ends…some buyers new to Ebaying are a little jumpy about the whole thing…they like the personal touch

Also you find out ahead of time whether they are real and not some jerk just bidding with no intention of paying

Good luck!

PS Check out the Ebay Community…they know EVERYTHING about buying and selling and are willing to share all they know

Very nice! I just tried to lose my eBay virginity last weekend by bidding on something (and I’ve been registered for two years, and have been lurking for four), but I got the bid in too late. Maybe this weekend I’ll actually succeed in bidding on something (and probably get sniped)!

What kinds of items are you selling? Are you looking at this as just selling a thing or two, or as a new enterprise?

Holy cow, I thought eBay put the kibosh on auctions for things like that!

ba da dum

Don’t forget to tip your waitress folks

Is this thing on?

I have purchased lots of stuff on eBay but put up my first auction this week. Actually, I put it up last week but nobody bid on it. :frowning: I think I was asking too much in the opening bid. So I re-listed it with a lower opening bid and now have a whopping two bids with just under 12 hours to go!

Going once…

A set of Swatches from 1991.

This is a one-time (or, very very very infrequent) happening. I just don’t have many items worth selling.

congrats rexnervous, I think my first item was a $600 set of dinnerware & I didn’t have any feedback but I sold it. These days I wait until I have a bunch of stuff first.
