I’ve been swallowed. Does that count as being drunk?
I’ve been drunk repeatedly. All of you non-drinkers are cordially invited to be the driver.
I’ve done a couple ‘recreational’ drugs, but didn’t like it at all. That seems to be somewhat unusual.
But you see, that’s my problem!, I’m the one in the group that doesn’t drink and I can’t drive… :smack:
I’ve never been drunk to the point of puking, passing out, all that exceedingly unpleasant-sounding stuff. I’ve been mildly drunk more often, but even so, I’ve only had three real hangovers. All of them involved puking the morning after. Not fun, when I was wishing for death because that would make the pain in my head go away, with dry heaves on top of it. Bleah.
I’ve never done any other recreational drugs, though. No real opportunity, and while I might interested in trying pot at least once, I also have no real urge to seek it out, what with the legal and employment issues involved.
Well then you’re just no help at all are ya?
COUSIN!
Mind you, where I come from and at my age, there was NO expectation that you’d at some point get drunk, specially for women. Part of the education on how to deal with alcohol was recognizing anything approaching tipsy and knowing when to stop. Times have a’changed somewhat and I think it’s for the worst in this case; absurdly enough one of the triggers for the change was the creation of a drinking-age limit, as it took alcohol from being “something you learned how to deal with from drinking small amounts with your parents” to being “something forbidden you chug with your mates to show that your balls clang more than theirs.”
Things I haven’t done which would have been expected among my peers… hm… well, most of my high school classmates lived in shared apartments at some point during their college years, I stayed in a dorm.
Same here. Woke up with fuzz mouth, but never a hangover. I’ve also been high, but never on anything more than weed and (back when it was probably at the tail end of being fashionable) hash. Not big on mind alteration in any form anymore though, but I still have a drink once in a while.
Being drunk loosens one up, but all things considered, I find it rather overrated.
I’ve been drunk, but not so drunk that I couldn’t walk/couldn’t remember what I did the night before. I just can’t DRINK that much. I’ll have maybe two drinks and then my body says “okay, I’m done.”
And I’ve never been high. I smoked pot, once, didn’t get high, and didn’t enjoy the experience, so I didn’t repeat it.
Nope, never been drunk. I’ve had alcohol a few times – tastes like battery acid. I realize it’s an acquired taste for some folks…and have never gotten around to acquiring it. Coffee’s pretty much the same way: it’s the bitter water someone washed beans* in. (Although inexplicably I like very sweet coffee-flavored things: ice cream, candies, milkshakes). Tea, ditto.
I drive all the time, though.
- (Yes, Alton Brown–I realize they’re berries or drupes or something. I’m sorry.)
Worst username-post combo ever.
Don’t drink alcohol. Never been drunk or intoxicated. I’m 42. Never liked the taste or wanted to bother “acquiring a taste” for alcohol.
I don’t think I’ve been drunk. I had three Killer Bees and something with grapefruit juice in it over the course of two hours and I told the second mate she had beautiful eyes, but I still think I was only buzzed.
I’m boring, too, and I’ve had more practice at it than most of you.
Essentially the same thing for me. “Gee, Dad. Can I grow and be up just like you?”, as he falls down or beats my mother. I made it a point at an early age to do everything the opposite of what he did.
So, never drank, only smoked for a few months a few years ago (cigars, never figured out what the allure was. All it ever did was make my mouth feel like someone shat in it and make my clothes smell), and have never done drugs of any sort other than for a cold, etc., or what the doctor might have prescribed for short periods.
How can anyone look at a drunk and want to emulate that? It does not compute.
That could be a whole forum. We’d have…
Great Debates
Cafe Society
The Game Room
Things Robot Arm Hasn’t Done
etc.
Never been drunk, never smoked, never did drugs other than prescriptions.
Same, most recently I had to do a couple weeks on gabapentin, and the first dose made me feel like I had just had about 3 quick shots of vodka. Very strange. No subsequent dose made me loopy though.
I remember morphine in hospital. Wasnt drunk, but the relief from pain was fantastic. I can see why people would use it recreationally for the warm fuzzy feeling.
Amytriptaline on the other hand makes me hallucinate, and get paranoid while being loopy. Not something I want to repeat.
Never had a manicure or a pedicure, though I have done a set of acrylic nails on myself. Found it pretty easy to do, all it is is bondo for people =)
Never.
Never really drank a whole drink, nor even half of one.
Heh. The very first time I ever had IV morphine (for a kidney stone), my first thought was “thank God the pain is gone!” and my second thought was “I can see how people could get hooked on this!”.
Of course, that was years before I ever had IV Dilaudid; oral Dilaudid does nothing for me. Might as well eat breath mints. But IV? I am insanely grateful it’s not street legal, or I would have a huge monkey on my back!
You’ve obviously never had battery acid.
From what I’ve read from opioid addicts, IV Dilaudid (hydromorphone) is even better than heroin. It ranks second only to oxymorphone.
