J.J. Abrams' NEW SHOW!

so Six Degrees has the spot right after Grey’s for this upcoming season, talk about the money spot? I am really interested to see how this show turns out, its gotten alot of buzz and Abrams is behind it…soo…anyone else lloking forward to this?

…I wouldn’t go crazy about it being a money spot… Isn’t Grey’s Anatomy going up against CSI?

His shows tend to get lost in their own “cleverness” and not quite be able to figure a way out of the holes they’ve dug.

It’s a pity that the TV mini-series has more or less died as a format. Having a definite ending would have helped other Abrams shows rather than “continue until people get fed up and stop watching.”

Hummm…i’m going to have to disagree, I can’t see how either Lost or Alias ever gotten “lost in their own cleverness” (no pun intended  ) nor have either found themselves in a hole they can’t dig out of. If anything, I think he has a knack for keeping people hooked, and fiening for the next clue, the next episode, the next season. This seems to be the new wave of television series- the 24’s, the Losts, the Prison Breaks…all have been incrediblly successful using this technique.

I think many people welcome this, rather than a show that is solved in thirty minutes and you end up only looking forward to seeing the characters each week. I like the fact that Six Degrees seems to look highly character driven, but still holds onto that unfinished ending theme that most of Abrams’ shows embrace.

I guess we will have to wait and see the actual show to pass down the final verdict, but in my opinion, things are looking pretty rosy.

Well then we’ll have to agree to disagree on that one. Alias especially went from very clever show to hopelessly lost in its own self-worship nonsense. Lost has found ways to frustrate its viewers every season, and I don’t think anyone actually expects a decent resolution to all the mysteries and intrigue there (anyone who does is deluding themselves).
