Jack Armstrong's theme

Does anyhone remember the Jack Armstrong radio show? I grew up listening to it, and I never could understand the lyrics of the theme song. What I remember hearing was “Raise the pifer huts on high, boys”. I realize that this has to be a mondegreen, but what were the real words? The name of his school was Hudson High, so part of it is explained, but what is a “pifer”?

Don’t know the theme song…But…

If you want to buy some episodes…

If you want to go on a search, the song was titled “Wave the Flag (for Hudson High).” An alternate title might be “Have You Tried Wheaties?”
If the search engine demands an author, you might try James Peterson, but that’s just a shot.

WAG, but might it have been “Raise it high for Hudson High”?

First verse

Wave the flag for hudson high, boys,
show them how we stand.
Ever shall our team be champions.
Known throughout the land.

The rest of it escapes me—any other old mossy-horns out there?

The wheaties theme was another tune altogether------if you want that one I think I can dredge it up

Oh, thank you, Ezstrete - my mother always wondered what that third line was. She thought it sounded like “We’re the shallow creepy champions…”, but she knew that couldn’t be right! I can’t wait to tell her the real words - she will be thrilled!

(I do know all the lyrics to “Little Orphan Annie” - ma didn’t have any trouble with those.)
