Who takes it?
Nobody beats Bauer. Not Bourne, not Bond, not even Batman.
Bourne has trouble figuring out who he is. Jack would have him for lunch.
Bourne is resourceful. Jack is merciless.
I’d watch that movie, though.
Book Bourne or Movie Bourne? Movie Bourne is a very pale shadow of Book Bourne.
Depends, are they in Los Angeles? It seems likely anything that happens to Bauer happens there.
In LA, or within a short distance, or possibly even within the continental US? Bauer.
In other countries, especially if covert travel is required between countries? Bourne.
In five minutes, Jack Bauer could make Jason Bourne reveal his identity, whether he remembers it or not.
I think a few too many people are underestimating Jason Bourne’s ability to kill people who try to apprehend him.
Straight-up fight… they’d both die from injuries.
Whichever one wins, the collateral bodycount will be in the hundreds, if not thousands.

Movie Bourne.* He’s not letting his guard down again. Besides I have to side with the guy whose against the Man, instead of the Man himself.
Has Bauer ever operated outside the US?
I’ve never really watched 24, and I have not read the Book Bourne. :o
On screen, he’s operated in Mexico (season 3).
Off screen, he’s been a part of covert operations overseas – part of the premise of season 1 was that he had been part of a covert op, I think it was in Bosnia, if I remember correctly.
And he’s currently about to operate on a slow boat to China… Millions of Chinese could feel the effects by the start of Season 6. Guess we’ll find out in January.

Anywhere out of the US - certainly Bourne, and I would go for book Bourne - couldn’t stand to watch the movies.
The guy was a creative genius, who could take out a whole squad of marines before you even knew he was in the country…
The odd thing is that this made me realise, Jack Bauer is the antithesis of Batman. He only ever loses when he is prepared, and always wins when caught flat-footed and acting in haste.

I think we can all agree that James Bond loses.
Unless the game is snagging babes. Jack and Jason would be too busy beating information out of them to have much fun with them, whereas James would hold off on the info gathering until after a few “close encounters.” Then he would do his job and have his fun offing them.
