The movie seemed to flop in the theaters but I got it from Netflix and watched it and found it was actually pretty entertaining. It didn’t fell like I saw it a half dozen times already. It was pretty original and fun. Anyone else see it?
Been considering renting it from Red Box.
I thought it was a lot of fun. Never dragged and didn’t have any ‘filler’ moments. A lot of original and creative ideas presented well. Great characters. I’d definately watch it again.
I saw it in theaters, and it was just average to me. Predictable, reasonably well-executed, though the effects with the giants weren’t all that great. This and Warm Bodies may have slowed Hoult’s career goals in the US.
Only because Warm Bodies, which I thought was absolutely wonderful (a zombie movie that, to me, was fresh/original, funny and well-acted, with a dark, warm heart), didn’t get the audience it deserved.
I liked Jack The Giant Slayer when the giants weren’t onscreen (because I thought they looked awful too, at least on the big screen) mainly because of Hoult and Ewan McGregor. They were very cute and had great chemistry. I hope Hoult has as long and varied a career as McGregor.
This film cost almost 200 million dollars to produce. You would think anything costing that much money to produce should be fairly good.
Jack the Giant Slayer was OK, but not really great. Warm Bodies was better (although until the balcony scene, I didn’t realize that the film was a take on Romeo & Juliet).
