You know, I’m a huge slasher, I’ll happily fantasize about any two cute guys. Still read classic Kirk/Spock slash. Looooove James Spader. But, Shatner as he is now (getting a bit long in the tooth and round in the gut) with James Spader? Ick. I just can’t see it.

But, I’d be willing to bet the article is a bit misleading. There’s probably a drunk scene and the two leads wind up in bed together ala Planes, Trains, and Automobiles and it’s played for laughs.

Um, I saw James Spader on Conan recently and he said that exact same comment about Shatner in response to Conan asking about what it was like when they first met. Spader said he first noticed the aroma and he thought it was the craft service table. Now it was late at night and I was very tired and only half paying attention but I do not recall any mention of them doing a spooning scene in bed and I think that would have managed to sear itself into my brain even if I wasn’t paying close attention.

I vote for joke. This talks about a scene for the upcoming season. Aren’t all shows, except for those that run in the summer, now on hiatus?

Walloon, I’ve never had any sort of attraction to William Shatner (while I think James Spader is mildly attractive) and the thought of him sexing up anyone (to me, completely IMHO) is gross. But YMMV.
