JamieMcGarry - Wheel yourself on down here

You found me out. :frowning:

I really don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about.

Why does the name Stoid keep popping into my head?

She’s single right? Do you think we should introduce the two of them? There seems to be a lot of similarities in personalities - but I wonder how their home life would be…

This thread is terrible.

You are all a huge bunch of DORKS.

From the very annoying one-trick-pony in the wheelchair to the pile-on-holier-than-thou-bullies.

YOU ARE ALL DORKS.

ALL OF YOU.

QUIT THIS TERRIBLE 11-PAGE BELLYACHING.

Holy crap, I’m dying here!

Jamie, I think you’ve been hiding another physical disability. You appear to be physically incapable of not digging yourself in deeper with every post. Your excuses get lamer and lamer by the minute.

“When I posted on facebook asking all my friends to come join this message board to support me, I didn’t mean that I wanted my friends to join this message board to support me! What kind of IDIOT would think that??!”

no u

Are you including yourself in that group? You’re technically one of us now.

I, for one, love this thread.

It’s looking pretty undignified all around, actually, which is a feat for a Pit thread.

Hey, Jamie’s not always wrong, and sometimes he is exhibits quite a bit of wisdom.

…in a wheelchair.

I know, I’m not proud of myself but I can’t stop reading.

So is this like adding “in bed” to the end of fortune cookies.

“you will rise to new a greater heights” … in a wheelchair.

I have merged the MPSIMS thread (where Jamie shows a video of himself doing pull-ups in his wheelchair) with this thread since the two seem to be directly related.

So the last few posts might read a little weird; keep in mind they were from two, separate threads.

In theory (not a suggestion) I keep thinking, this thread along with the other handful of threads that Jaime started (Slipped off the Radar and the parking lot one, and maybe there was one other one) could all be merged. They’re all pretty identical and people have been moving quotes back and forth between them since they started.

Yeah… that’s an accident (and lawsuit) waiting to happen.

That is so inspiring.

But the question is, what is it inspiring you to do?

Question for Jamie: I can’t watch the video at work, but if I’m understanding you correctly, you do the pullups while strapped in your chair because you need the extra weight of the chair, right? So why don’t you just do pullups with a dip belt, with a plate or kettlebell to add the extra weight you need? You’d still need assistance, but it seems to me it would be a lot safer all around, and easier on your wheelchair.

My husband was a (part-time) wheelchair user (until his spinal cord tumors were removed and he unexpectedly gained a lot of his walking ability back). The thought of someone dropping to the floor, even just a few inches, in an expensive, custom-fitted chair like he has, on a regular basis makes me cringe - that’s got to be hard on the chair.

Beat my head against a wall.

No problem, if it breaks just sue whomever made the wheelchair. Claim that it wasn’t fit for purpose and didn’t meet some standards that might come into legislation in the next few years. Everybody wins. (By everybody I mean Gimpy McGarry)

So, in order to let us know exactly how you were doing the pullups that were banned by the other gym, you posted a video of yourself doing them on an entirely different machine in an entirely different way?
