I took it that they were afraid of rioters nearby in the building.
I heard it as you [LR] did.
Thanks. I figure I must have misunderstood. Glad to learn I did.
(Not that it makes anything really any better, though.)
Break time. Some pretty damning stuff so far.
Highlights?
Makes Rose Mary Woods look like an amateur.
Aspenglow, MSNBC in recapping says it was SS in fear of protesters.
Basically, that Trump knew what was happening, and made no attempt to stop it. It would have been so easy to do so–make a few calls, step into the briefing room (just sixty seconds down the hall) and address the rioters and the nation. But he did not. He just sat there and watched the riot on Fox.
Also, that Pence’s security detail was so afraid of what might happen, that they were calling loved ones with “good-bye” messages. They feared for their lives.
ETA: Highlights for ThelmaLou.
Plus during the riot, Trump was making phone calls to pressure states to change the vote.
- Thanks.
- Yikes!
Thanks. I was just catching that and it was the SS with Pence who were getting so frightened. It sure came through in the radio exchanges, didn’t it?
Horrifying.
The slo-mo video of Hawley running like a coward was a good touch.
“I thought I was gonna be the leopard!”
I can tell you that mike pence’s hair is like a spotlight. I saw him about 3 city blocks away from an event. Clear and bright as a super moon. I don’t know why the secret service didn’t have him wear a hat.
The people in the capital would have had no trouble spotting him, and as they were armed…
They were seconds away from an Alamo situation with pence.
Had the quantum uncertainties fluctuated differently, Pence’s team would have had to shoot their way out.
He’s a hyena at best. (No disrespect intended to hyenas.)
Gavel down.
Tweets from Don Jr. telling Meadows to intervene.
Wow … Don Junior has been watching The Godfather too much, I think.
Kinzinger says Trump clearly did not “meet the moment.” Now showing Tweets from Don Jr. that Trump needed to do more.
Edit: Ninja’ed! I’m a better watcher than a commentator.
