… if only Merrick Garland were alive to hear this…
I’m satisfied that they made their case about Trump himself right from the start. I’m not satisfied that the American people will give a fuck.
I had an argument with my uncle last week at my niece’s graduation party. It was the first time I had seen him since the election in 2020. I told him, an army veteran, that everybody that still supports Trump after what happened between 11/03/2020 and 1/20/2021 owes the country an apology and that I questioned his patriotism and believed he was an enemy of the US. I doubt I will ever speak to him again, but to be honest I don’t really give shit. I believe he is a member of the oath keepers; these peoples are traitors.
For some reason I pictured the number of Proud Boys involved at something like a few dozen. 250-300? Holy shit.
The single best thing about these hearings is that only 2 people on the committee are speaking.
Thank God the other members didn’t demand (or get) their 5 minutes each.
Well, the filmmaker said “around a couple of hundred,” so I’m thinking 175 to 225, or so. Still, like you, I thought a few dozen. Regardless of our numbers, both our numbers are a lot more than “a few dozen.”
Not a big fan of Chairman Thompson on this. He sounds like a bad high school actor, obviously reading from a script he had not memorized. And his words to the witnesses obviously scripted,
Cheney would have been much better in that role.
Thank Pelosi for rejecting Jim Banks, Jim Jordan, Rodney Davis, Kelly Armstrong, and Troy Nehls.
Yeah, his presentation style isn’t very compelling.
Perhaps the committee will get enough feedback so as to put somebody else front and center next week.
I only heard a little of his speech in the car today, but he sounded to me like i sound when i am profoundly disturbed, but still have to speak in front of an audience.
The committee believes that they get lots of shots at this. They are wrong about that.
My God, the man was fine. He was supposed to be calm, collected, and refer to the racist origins of Trump’s supporters, and he did exactly that.
He’s not a compelling speaker. But he’s not.mincing words -and neither is Liz Cheney. The videos and the testimony is devastating. Edwards testifying that she found herself in a battle for which she was not trained and did not expect-incredible. The various insurrectionists saying Donald Trump told them what to do -damning. Bill Barr, Ivanka Trump and the ever-slappable Jarad Kushner- infuriating and incriminating. They are laying this out clearly for the public and the historians and they are doing a great job so far.
Is this going to be as big as Watergate? While it might remain to be seen, I think most of this will fall on deaf ears. Such a shame if it does
Proud Boys were supposed to be all ‘stand down and stand by’ but the number of them testifying against Trump means that they were more ‘stand back and speak up’, lol.
Well, in a way it cannot be for Trump is no longer the sitting President. So don’t compare the outcomes, thx.
Both parts can be true. This was huge and devastating and important. And the people who only watch Fox may never know about it.
Agreed. His main job is to not become the story himself. Make sure the clips that are shared on news shows and YouTube tomorrow are the riot videos and testimony of officer Edwards, not him grandstanding. He did that well.
Don’t be a snot, thx.
