Japanese Porn is Really Weird (Warning: Descriptions)

Okay, this wasn’t addressed to me, and I had no intention of posting to this thread, but what the heck. I did live in Japan for a little over 2 years, and have lived in Korea for more than 8. Most of this time I was single and fairly active. I wouldn’t say that most Asian women behave like this during sex, but it does apply to a disturbingly high percentage of them, both Japanese and Korean. It never made me feel like “more of a man.” There were times when I actually stopped to ask if they were okay, which was always answered with a kind of disappointed look and an annoyed “Yes, I’m okay.” (Sorry, sweetie, but if I think I’m hurting you, I’m going to stop and suggest a change of position or something. Excuse me for being human.)

Last week, in a class I’m teaching, my students did class presentations on comparisons, on the topic of their choice. One guy asked if it was all right to compare western porn and Japanese porn, and I said okay. (It’s a small summer school class, all juniors and seniors, and all guys.) It was a good presentation, quite informative, and pretty much in agreement with the OP: Japanese porn is really weird.

Back to my first paragraph. One of the reasons I fell in love with MrsO (Korean) may be that from the first time we slept together, she smiled–I think she likes it! After several years of living in Asia and fooling around with Asian women, many of whom acted like they were in pain during sex (even if they denied it when asked), it was nice to be with a partner who seemed to enjoy it. None of that “eep eep eep” for me.

First:

Band name. Or album title. Or experimental indie-film title.

Second:

karellen/Blowero give an interesting analysis on the possible reasons for the reported deficiencies in Japanese porn. Interestingly, in a reflection of the uniformity and predictability that is a social value in the culture, even the “outlets” are uniform and predictable.

Another thing I have noticed is that in their cartoon porn (Hentai manga and anime) the females are often shown as more active, enthusiastic, even aggressive participants (OKay, except when the males are replaced altogether by multitentacled aliens/demons… you wins some, you loses some) . Could this be, because, after all, the character on the pages of the manga or the cels of the anime is not a real woman, and thus can be allowed a behavior that would not be acceptable of a real live one?

While you’re all here. Concerning the women who star in these adventures and their stats.

I can see age, even birthday, bust size etc. But why, in the name of sanity, do they include blood type? Is it just to have another stat or is there some deeper meaning to it?

Vampires gotta thing for Japanese chicks too!

Blood type is thought to be telling of personality traits in Japan and other Asian countries, much like a zodiac sign. Everyone here who finds out that I don’t know my blood type is shocked.

Wouldn’t it be O, MrO?

How much of the personality could be divined when there are only four possible states, or do they take into account postive and negative (8) and all that jazz (12)? Is blood type less homogeneous than it is in the U.S.?

Sailor Moon says my blood types O. Here’s what they mean and a little history.

Or, Sailor Moon says “My Blood Type’s O”

I’m A+.

Ha ha. Good one.

**

That I don’t know. My students often ask what I’ll do if I’m ever in an accident and need blood. I assume that the doctor is going to check anyway, rather than take my word for it, especially if I’m unconscious.

A common joke here in Korea is that someones’ blood type is OB. (OB Beer, which I think stands for Oriental Brewery, is popular.)

Sorry for going a bit off topic.

Hey, that helped the discussion! Thanks!

GASP How did you know my blood type, MrO??

Not really representative, but it is based on a true story.

The director of that film made Gohatto, a gay samurai drama that was actually quite good but In the Realm of the Senses freaked me out.

Japanese porn appeals to taste’s of all kind
do not let a few disappoint you

the grimacing or pained look is part of the act
Asians like their girls innocent, unused(or shy), and a bit of horny
mixed together
a girl needs to act like she doesn’t want it but internally is horny for all of it
this is the asian phenomena it is true that the porn industry is very liberal but asian lifestyle (ie. chinese, japanese etc) on the surface cherish and prize the untouched girl

mainstream porn are called AV
AV (adult video) girls are prized for their innocence and their ability to look innocent and young
once an AV gets old and used over and over again people will not have an interest

those who know any non-westernized asian friends should ask about the untouched woman and how it is cherished to pop her cherry

japanese are mostly about fantasies about doing girls that are innocent or a random girl on the street or in a subway

but of course since porn appeals to all taste’s they have all sorts of raunchy porn too.

Having watched a lot of porn, especially Japanese Porn - here’s what I’ve
noticed: Yes, the “eep eep eep” baby cries are very annoying, and at first I thought wow is that the way Japanese women react during sex? I can tell you that I’m sure as others have said, it’s a male power thing and the women are
told to act this way. But…I’ve seen some of the hottest Lesbian Japanese
Porn and they reveal their true selves; real moaning and something I never
see in non Japanese porn: long passionate kissing, oral sex that doesn’t seem as if the women dislike it and are just going through the motions - this holds true for male/female Japanese porn also. They take their time, kissing and touching
and lots of oral - western porn is cold, they meet and 2 seconds later they’re
fucking and that’s it. I find Japanese porn more creative, the women are the
most breathtakingly beautiful i have ever seen ( ok, my wife is Filipino and I’m partial to Asians!). For sure, they overuse the dildo thing and a lot of the
criticisms are right on the money, but I think Japanese porn is more graphic
and hotter.

Gee, I wonder what phrase you were googling that resulted in you stumbling across this decade old thread.

I believe that question was answered upstream: potato salad recipes.

No, for the personality indicator paradigm they don’t include Rh, M, N and other types. Blood type in Japan is not less homogenous, but it is a different distribution that the US (probably).

When I was studying biology at university in Australia our whole prac class did the blood tests to check our types and the distribution was about:

65% O
15% A
15% B
5% AB

which, I’m told, is pretty close to the Australian population average distribution.

Japan, on the other hand, I’m told, has a lower percentage of O’s and a consequently higher percentage of both A and B (and probably then also of AB).

That rarest of beasts, a double Zombie. Impressive!
