Jaydess or other IUD users

So I got my IUD in January and I noticed that this period isn’t happening yet? (3days late) Has anyone else stopped their periods so soon? My doctor said it would take about a year or so?

Please tell me if this is about normal or should I panic

I had a mirena several years ago, and as I remember it the periods stopped almost immediately. I wouldn’t freak out, but if you are worried, grab a pregnancy test from the dollar store.

I got a Skyla (the lowest dose hormonal IUD) in October and the effect was immediate and dramatic. I have had only light spotting since then during my “periods.” I still ovulate, get PMS, and many of my usual period symptoms…but almost no bleeding. And cycles are less regular than they were.

I wouldn’t worry about it, just enjoy. I did worry, and went out and bought pregnancy tests early on, but it was just the IUD. Unless you have other reason to worry that it came out.

With my first Mirena, my periods stopped immediately and I would only have spotting a couple times a year. This time, I had my Mirena inserted while I was on blood thinners as a result of a DVT and pulmonary embolism. I had regular, light periods while I was on the blood thinners but since I have tapered off of them I have not had any spotting or bleeding. Mirena is 99% effective but if you are really worried, it would probably ease your mind to take a pregnancy test.
