I’m not sure ancient is the right word. I do remember Lincoln getting shot, though.
Sauron, I think I love you.
So what are you so afraid of?
Fear of Dark Lords.
But…Thanks for the lovely reminder that I need to re-read my Bloom County Books.
“Please accept these blossoms as a blessing from the bottom of my bloomers.”
I think I’ve found a new username.
For what it’s worth, my great-grandmother (b.1861, d.1962) remembered her father coming home and telling her mother that Lincoln had been shot.
And her mother saying “Good”.
No no no … you’re afraid that you’re not sure of a love there is no cure for. Does no one appreciate the classics anymore? Tell me Keith Partridge did not labor in vain!
Gotta love Bloom County, though. Bonus points for that.
May I please use this as my sig?
Frankly, Anthracite, I surprised that you would so cavalierly dismiss the topic of nun-on-nun crime. This is a terrible plague sweeping our society, and I expected you, of all people, to treat it with the seriousness it deserves.
Actually, Sauron, I have an intense fear of the Cassidy brothers, thanks to two older sisters with big, big crushes. Oh the horror!
Sorry everyone…there will be no more on this from me. Oh, my first attempted hijack. I’m so ashamed.
My dad’s JFK anecdote: He was working in a lab when they heard the news on the radio. Cow-orker left to call his adult son and came back looking even more shaken than before. Apparently the son’s reaction had been, “Well, it’s about time someone shot the sonofabitch!”
Or maybe they were hungry.
Another stellar reason of why I love this board.
