Many years ago, I heard an absolutely thrilling performance of the old jazz standard “Day By Day”, done at an extremely fast tempo, and very swingy. I’ve always wanted to have a recording of this song that was even vaguely like the performance I heard, but every single version of “Day By Day” that I’ve ever heard plods along a positively funereal tempo. So tell me: do you know of any recordings of “Day By Day” that clip along relatively quickly? Swinginess is a bonus.
