Jazz Pianist Horace Silver just died - 85

Wow - I love Horace Silver. I find myself coming into his songs on the radio and they fit right into my cool, accessible combo jazz from the 50’s. I know songs like Filthy McNasty, but most I don’t know by name but love them when they come on.

Thank you, Horace for the amazing music.

One of the greats! He was on the Art Blakey / Jazz Messengers group’s Drum Suite album which was among the first albums I bought in the late 50’s. Always a fan of his music.

A jazz great. Loved everything I’ve heard by him. R.I.P.

Another old-time jazz great gone. My wife says he was the artist that first turned her on to jazz music.

I’m not much of a jazz fan but something about Song for my Father has always grabbed me.

Dang. Love Horace Silver. Would’ve been great to have seen him perform. Has anybody here had the privelege?

Great, great song. No doubt the boys in Steely Dan were big fans as well.

I saw Fourplay tonight and they did that song as a tribute.
