JD Vance, Usha Vance, and Erika Kirk

Who are three people I never want in my kitchen?

Okay, Cliff.

Nothing about the Maga movement seems to suggest that to me

Remember one of the defining events during the last election campaign was the GOP candidate being prosecuted in relation to an affair he had shortly after his wife gave birth to their son. At no point did he feel the need to deny the affair had happened.

As I posted in the other thread, Vance won’t lose much MAGA support, if any. But a sitting vice-president divorcing his wife while publicly being linked to another woman will not sit well with most Americans. And I doubt that many GOP candidates would appreciate those kinds of headlines.

Only in the same way no one was going to give a shit about the bloviated long island real estate huckster.

I don’t see how Vance stands much chance of consolidating trumps support after be pops his clogs (Trump’s certainly not going to do anything make that happen). But I also didn’t see how Trump stood much chance of pulling together enough support to win the presidency either.

IMO this Vance’s attempt to do just that, and basically inherit Kirk’s Maga support by marriage. Whether it will work or not is debatable, but if it fails it won’t be because the maga faithful are aghast at his immoral behavior towards his Hindu wife and the mother of his children.

Remember, the people actually calling the shots know that Trump is going to die sooner or later, and they want the cultists to consolidate under a new patsy so they can keep the grift going. They probably have a number of other plans if this one doesn’t work out, but it doesn’t cost them much to try.

Why would they care about that (Vance divorcing his wife to take up with Erika Kirk)? Trump is on wife number 3, Rudy Giuliani is divorced from wife number 3, Newt Gingrich on wife number 3, etc.

Evidently her face bonds to bad plasticine easily which appears to be another MAGA-girl trend. It’s almost as of the basement if The White House has an ‘Easy Fake Oven’.

Yes, but none of those divorces happened while those guys were in office, and none generated a whole lot of ink. You don’t think that a Vance divorce wouldn’t be a major social media topic?

IMO this is 2015 thinking. The last decade of American politics has shown conclusively that American Republican voters do not actually give a crap about the morals of their politicians (along with so much else they allegedly cared so much about, like the constitution, individual rights, etc. etc j

I’m not arguing that Vance would necessarily pay a price for divorcing, etc. But Trump consistently denied the Stormy “affair.” And I saw multiple videos of MAGA idiots believing it. She was a lying gold digger, a Democratic stooge, etc.

Not that it’s super relevant to the OP. But calling her a gold digger is absolutely not denying that she slept with Trump, gold diggers are not women who try and get rich by NOT sleeping with rich men

Has any cult ever survived the loss of its leader?

Especially considering that, as noted, the present Mrs. Vance is non-white and non-Christian. A lot of MAGA probably view that as “not a real marriage” in the first place.

“Lying” was the operative word to the MAGA idiots.

And how many years ago was that? At the time, even Trump thought it could hurt him, as that was the conventional wisdom for many, many years. But Trump himself proved that stuff like that no longer matters. At worst, people either don’t believe it, or don’t care about it. At best, some of them actually celebrate it, because they wish they could do stuff like that as well. “You banged a porn star? High Five!”

Exactly. Thirty years ago, having an affair and dumping his wife might have hurt him with the “family values” crowd. These days, I doubt most of those folks would give a shit, so long, of course, as the offending politician had an (R) next to his name and was spouting the proper talking points.

Oops, I meant to say 230kg.

(I don’t think he weighs quite THAT much, but you know what I mean. Say, how tall is Nora O’Donnell, anyway?)

Arguably, the North Korean regime is something of an edge case bordering on an exception. They managed to successfully transfer the cult’s identity from Kim Il-Sung individually to the Kim family more generally — at least the individual Kim family members who are raised to the status of supreme leader (less-favored Kims can of course still be disposed of). This is certainly an outlier without much modern precedent, but it does happen.

She’s 5’7", has three kids and is very happily married. But let’s keep this about Rump ( who is better than a cold shower anyway). :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
