I thought that now that Jerry was sole administrator he no longer had the bandwidth to take care of anything but the most pressing of board issues. I’m glad to see that his schedule has relaxed somewhat.
I will neither conform nor deny that I am Batman.
So, as near as I can piece together the series of events that led to this point:

The SDMB was hacked by an exploit that would not have been possible if the board software had been updated in last, say, 5 years or so. A routine task normally done by a board Administrator was left undone because it would take too much time and work.

The exploit that was possible due to this in some way involved compromising an Administrator account, of which there were at least 6 or 7 at the time.

In response, the board software was finally upgraded and all but one of the Administrators were demoted to Moderators.

The one Administrator who remained an Administrator is a guy who has zero time to do something like the routine tasks normally done by a message board Administrator such as, say, updating the board software to prevent exploits.
It all makes perfect sense now.

Tubadiva has referred (in the past) a technical issue I have raised to Jerry. Unless she is really devious, they are not the same person.
In my defense, I didn’t know I was in the ballpark of making an Official or “Official” announcement. I thought I was just answering a question to the best of my recollection. And I did start off my answer with “I think…”

I don’t think he did it assumingly. Maybe you mean presumably. Either way, nice to have you on board to dictate what should be discussed by other posters in a thread and when it’s time for us to lose interest.

Nah. know your answer was a bit of fun, but Tubadiva (over many years) has always been upfront with me.
If they don’t have thread, let them feet ache.
Plus, if Tuba and Jerry were the same person, I think Tuba would be more tech savvy. It’s hard to fake without coming off as dumb as rocks. She’d be Oscar worthy for her performance of knowing just enough to get by.

It came off worse than I meant. My point is that she comes off as fairly normal in tech smarts. Most people just know enough to get by. And that’s hard to fake.
