I remember that even local press would sometimes run articles on how the Bushes were lining Jeb to be a presidential candidate sometime in the future. Heck, I read articles about some younger Bushes that were somewhat considered potential political material in the future.

Did GWB effectively killed the Bush brand? Any chance there’ll be another Bush in the white house after GB I failed to get reelected and GB II went down in flames?

If the 28% of the country who thinks W is doing a heckofa job all came out and voted for Jeb, he would win in a walk. Very scary thought.
