I don’t know if he wrote it, but I’ve heard Garrison Keillor recite it.
I’m depressed because I would need a monitor twice the size of the one I am using to be able to read this without scrolling side to side. Grrrrr…
C’mere AntiPro!
Moe, curiously enough, I listened to Garrison singing this song (on tape, of course) during my drive in to work today. His version differed slightly, as such songs always do from one rendition to another, but I am confident he was not the originator. His comment in the recording was about it being one of the “marching songs” children sang (another was the “Glory, glory halleljah, teacher hit me with a ruler…”), and I remember it (our version) from my childhood as well. I’m sure it is one of those things passed among children for countless years, whose originator will never be know.
Well, about 250 people were so depressed that they couldn’t even answer the OP, so that may be a clue.
Myself? I’m more of an evil bastard, personally.
I’m so happy, I have to sit on my hands just to keep from clapping!
Now, I really AM depressed! How did I do something
that I don’t know how to do in the first place??
It’s ok J, we forgive you.
