For anyone that’s visited Monticello, they might read this and think “Well, that makes sense for him.” Jefferson was so efficient in his utilization of space in architecture. This sounds like a practical application, something he incorporated into much of his design, like the bed that straddled and was available to two rooms, the entrance clock that did the same, the hiding of staircases that were strictly utilitarian, etc. He and Frank Lloyd Wright would have had some interesting conversations and collaborations.
