Jeffrey Dahmer killed Adam Walsh?

Very interesting theory. I haven’t finished reading it yet because I wanted to be the first to post.

Looks pretty weak to me. Mostly just, “He was living in the same city as Adam when Adam was killed.” Meh.

BTW, is it just me, or does that first picture of Dahmer look strangely like David Beckham?

The Dahmer mug shot reminds me of Napoleon Dynamite with facial hair. Also, he appears to be eating a scene transition.

Anything’s possible, but Adam Walsh didn’t fit the profile and I don’t believe Dahmer would have withheld this information. He confessed to the most horrific crimes imaginable; why would he not cop to that murder if he did it? I say no way.

There is no evidence that Dahmer was a pedophile. And that’s the nicest thing I’ll ever say about him.

It’s pretty well established that Otis Toole killed Adam Walsh. He confessed to it, enough law enforcement officials say that his story checked out, and John Walsh accepts it. That’s good enough for me.

I think it sucks that people are now trying to trample on the grave of a canninbal-murderer by implying he was a pedophile! :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah after actually reading it, the theory looks pretty weak.

I thought the kid who got away and was returned by the police was very young, like 13 or 14. He was naked and led the cops back to Dahmer, but because of the kids poor english skills Jeffrey convinced the cops it was a lovers quirrel and they left him there to die. I remember hearing tape of their radio transmissions where they were making fun of the situation and laughing after they dropped him off.

Not that I believe he killed Adam, but I don’t think he was above snatching a youngster.

They were interviewing people about this last night on some news show. Some unbearably stupid retired FBI agent was saying he didn’t believe Dahmer’s denial because Dahmer said “honest to God, I didn’t do it” and genius agent speculated that saying “honest to God” was too extreme a preface, and thought he was lying as a result- what a moron. Maybe Dahmer prefaces every sentence that way (honest to God, I have to take a shit)? A couple of total idiots were thinking it is possible because he had a couple of 13 & 14 year olds among his victims, as if six and thirteen are in the same ballpark.

From what I remember (I can check my book when I get home from work) - Dahmer had an IVT - and I’m not sure what it was, but it was not specifically children for molestation. He classified as a power/control killer (according to Holmes & Holmes, which I do remember from that textbook) and it is technically possible that he was in the area at the same time as Adam Walsh, but - as was stated upthread - it is generally accepted that Otis Toole was the one who did it. I believe he (Otis) has confessed twice now to this murder and withdrawn each statement, althought I can only vouch for the fact that it was a statement made by my prof. during the lecture today (which was specifically on power/control killers).

I think it was even spelled out in the book (or by the prof.) this way: If Dahmer had killed Walsh, it would make interesting reading, but that is not proof of anything. It is more likely Dahmer had nothing to do with it, and what we are now seeing is sensationalism (which I could assume as soon as I heard the name Nancy Grace mentioned - but that’s something for the Pit, not MPSIMS) and wishful thinking in some manner.

I also believe the theory (again, from Holmes & Holmes and my prof.) that if Dahmer was a power/control killer, everything had to be perfect abut the five window murder (I don’t remember if that is the correct term, but everything from stalking to dropping off the body had to be perfect). It is said that he spent a good bit of time near a teacher or woman at the school before he picked up the little girl (his last victim) and if something went wrong with the stalking of this woman, he substituted the girl for her because he wanted the kill so badly. That makes the most sense for why there is a discrepency between the ages of his victims. He planned the murders for others, but when he got desperate he killed what he could get in his comfort zone.

If this thread doesn’t sink too far before 10 tonight, I might get to comment in it again. For now, I have to get back to work…
