Is it true jelly beans are mostly salt? If so, why are they so sweet?
I have an uneasy feeling that this is a joke question of some kind. But in case it isn’t…

This was not a joke question! That is what I would expect too. But the other day someone told me that jelly beans were mostly salt which is why they are a “banned” food if on a diet. That made no sense to me. That is why I posted the question!
I’d bet they’re not allowed on diets because they’re all sugar.
Whoever told you they were salt deserves a good slap upside the head.
Assuming you are on a diet, I suggest you avoid jelly beans and your friend.
And i’d stay away from that friend’s easter basket too.
